We are again reminded how fragile this life truly is. We were preparing for bed when we got a call from Chris. He said Katie was being transported to Mercy via the ambulance. Tammy was with her and would we meet him there? We rushed to the hospital where we waited for 45 minutes before being allowed to go back and see her (one at a time) Tony went 1st and he and Chris gave Katie a blessing. I went back after another 15 minutes. The nurse said she had the seizure because of a virus that caused her to have a high temperature and consequently the seizure. They took a
UA, blood and a chest
xray. Her temperature was coming down slowly and she seemed to be improving so we left at 11:45. Tammy will update us all today. Please keep them in your prayers.

oh scary- glad she is ok.
How did I miss this when I was still up at 2a last night?!?! Oy... yes, we're SO glad she's doing better!!! Hope she continues to improve - all these "baby care" websites talk about febrile seizures, but I still think that's about the scariest thing that could possibly happen to a parent and their kiddo...
Stupid viruses! They're horrible!!!
I'm so glad she's okay! I almost lost it(cried) when Tamara told me about it on the phone this morning and now reading this and seeing the pictures did make me cry. That is so scary! I guess it affects me so much because of our scare when Garrett was born. My heart and prayers definitely go out to them.
Oh so sad. Glad she is okay. I use to get these seizures when I was a kid. At some point they just went away, i did continue to have fever dreams as I got older. They eventually went away as well. (thats what the doctor called them). I would be wide awake and have hallucinations. Very scary.
so just talked to my mom. They didn't just go away, I had to have surgery when I was eight, which took care of the infection, which stopped the spiking high fevers. I didn't realize these two instances were related.
Thank you everyone for your love and support. I just sent out an email with the entire story. We were the most scared we've ever been in our lives. We had no idea what was wrong. So glad she is okay. We love her so very much! (Will update our blog later).
