Well, I'm just sick! I was downloading a bunch (ALL) the pictures I took on the Seaside vacation this year. Actually I was downloading them from our computer to a Costco site so I could have some printed. I'm not sure if that's what did it but our computer gave up the ghost. Tony took the hard drive to Coby on Saturday and it's shot! We have ordered another (actually 2) new hard drives and Coby was trying to see if any information can be saved. It's doesn't look good and for the most part I'm OK with it all EXCEPT......I've lost all my pictures! If you would all be so kind ......I would love any pictures of the kids, family get togethers, my wedding (whaaaaaaa) baptisms etc. I would appreciate it. I feel like I've lost the last 4 years of my life!

We might be able to retrieve at least a good chunk of them - there are data recovery services out there, although they tend to be a little on the pricey side. Maybe Hubby can talk to Dad about some of the details there... And this has spurred us to DEFINITELY make backing up our pictures a priority!!! I'm so sorry it happened, and I sure hope one of those services can get those all back for you! *fingers crossed*

THAT STINKS! I worry about our stuff sometimes too, so this will definitely make me think to talk to Jon again about doing whatever we need to do to make sure our stuff is saved and safe. Sorry mom-
I have lots of your pictures. I have seen this happening a lot latley and I am starting to think I need to save my pictures somewhere else.

oh my goodness, this just makes me SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sorry this aweful nightmere happened. Ive got some pics you might like, Ill send them your way. :)
Thanks Hilary! I would love some pic's from you. We found out from Coby that it will cost $100 just to have someone check out the hard drive and possibly $500 to $2700 to retrieve any lost info sooooooo, it's a no go! So I thank any and all who can give me pics!
Ah man, I'm so sorry! We had a close call with that recently too and I had to plead with Derek to save all of our pictures and videos. He told me some options too so it won't happen again. Right now we have an external hard drive that I've backed up everything onto as our comptuer is still iffy. We have had it for a while but I haven't been very diligent in backing up. He said there is also a hard drive setup where you have two hard drives that save the same things to both. Then if one goes bad you can always recover using the other. Hope this helps and I REALLY hope you're able to get all your hard drive stuff recovered. Eek!
