The peaches started to ripen so I took them out of the box and layed them out on the table and the island and started sorting through. I was able to bottle 13 quarts on Tuesday night. Tony was busy in the yard so I worked alone. Aren't they beautiful ? Oh and by the way, check out my new hand held Dyson there on the counter. (Try to ignore all the other clutter) It is totally awesome! I am one lucky lady!
I love to see canned peaches. They are such a pretty fruit and I love the color. They are even beautiful in the jar! They kinda clash with all that red...LOL
Tony helped me last night and we were able to do another 26 quarts. We are going to try and finish up tonight. It was fun working together and the work went much faster.....go figure!

At the very end we somehow ended up with ONE lone jar so I was water bathing it all by it's little lonesome and we had gone upstairs to get ready for bed. All of a sudden Tony said "I smell something burning!" I made a mad dash for the kitchen to find the canner had run out of water. There was a mess in the bottom but luckily not too bad. We boiled some water in the tea kettle and poured it it and then continued to finish the last jar. My house stinks now! We'll be more careful tonight!

Good job! I agree - peaches are beautiful fresh and canned. I noticed you have some jars upsidedown on the counter - how come? Just wondering - didn't see anything about dong that in our directions that came with our canner.
That pretty jar of peaches would look wonderful with all my black appliances.....
You need to teach me how to can! If you want some help let me know and I'll come over. I really do need a lesson. They look yummy!

Stillman is eating ours too fast to can them. We might just prove that you can only can one jar of peaches!
Tamara, I just put them upside down till they are cool. They seal everytime that way. Glad to get done though! Now we can eat um! Yummy
I sure am enjoying the fresh ones though!
Those look so good, I miss when my mom used to can peaches too...well, maybe I miss the eating part :) You look great by the way!!
my grandmother used to can peaches as well! Boy do I miss them! Feel like sending a jar or two over our way? hehe. j/k. glad you had help too!
