NOW , THAT'S WHAT I CALL A GOOD DAY AT WORK !!

This is the finished product of the 1st quilt. It really looks better in person but I can't complain. I got the fabric at DI for $1.oo. Made the boss real happy! LOL
Sewing strips together...........
Caught red handed at the machine...............and at work no less! This is the back of the 1st quilt done..................

I had to work the late shift last night and it gets really slow after about 2PM. I got busy on the "give away quilt" and found after I got the quilt done.......I have enough fabric for another!
Today I started the 2nd! I will have it put together before I go home and will probably get it cut and ready to wash by tomorrow.

"LIVE LONG AND PROSPER".......Just a start to our Memorable Memorial Day Weekend........

Busy Weekend for Tony and myself....... We started it Friday night with some dinner @ the Sizzler! Steak and Lobster! It was so good! We then went to Star Trek! 2 words!
LOVED IT!
and I'm not a Trekkie like my husband!

We got up Saturday morning and took an 8 mile bike ride to the farmers market and then all over town. It was beautiful weather and a very nice ride.
After we got home we went and did some grocery shopping and then off to another movie. We went for suspense and intrigue this time and saw "Angels & Demon's". It was really good and had a real twist at the end! I really liked this one too!

Just to prove we were really there. LOL I was trying to take a picture of us at the theater and a lady came by and was nice enough to take it for us! (SHE MUST OF BEEN A BLOGGING FOOL JUST LIKE ME!)
Sunday was spent at church and relaxing at home. I did make homemade egg noodles Saturday night with my nifty attachment to my Kitchen Aid. I made chicken and noodles on Sunday and we had Chris Floyd over for dinner. (his family was up at Cascade) I have to admit, they were pretty tasty!
Monday morning I finished putting together the top of my "Crazy Eights" quilt. I rather like it and will work on the edging and the back tonight.
We then loaded up our bikes and drove to Boise to meet up with Colby and Krista and Nephi and we hit the Greenbelt on our bikes again and we went a little over 10 miles. The Greenbelt was beautiful and fragrant but very busy!

We stopped at the Fish Habitat Center in Ann Morrison Park and took some pictures. Here's Grandpa and Nephi and a beautiful waterfall.

I tried to get a 3 generation shot but Colby and Nephi didn't cooperate! LOL

Tony and the girls were more willing to be photographed!

After the long bike ride, we went to Subway and got some sandwiches and then headed back to the apartment.

Nephi was wondering...."What the heck is this woman doing?" We settled down to lunch and another movie..........MALL COP!

We had a great weekend! It was very relaxing and somewhat productive!

WORK'S BEEN UNUSUAL THESES DAYS!!!!

Work has been so slow these days that we are contacting Clients with a different approach..... Each office is planting a "Victory Garden" like they did in World War 2. We will then share the produce with temps this fall. The idea is "If we can't offer them a job, we will offer them things they may be in need of." We are also cleaning out our closets etc and we will be having a "Flea Market" and the temps can come and select things they may need. Each office is also making a "Comfort Quilt" and there will be a drawing this fall and one lucky temp will be the recipient. We are trying to involve the clients and hoping they will join in and donate as well.
Yesterday, we planted 4 tomatoes. Today we planted pumpkins and two varieties of squash. Tomorrow we will put in Zucchini, cucumbers and red and green peppers. It's been fun. Not a usual day at work!

THE GOOD TIMES END BUT IT'S BEEN A FUN 12 DAYS!

It has been so much fun playing with Heather and Rowan this past week and a half! We were able to accomplish so much and I've posted SOME of the pictures and still didn't post everything we did! I have to admit.....in helping Heather learn some things she asked me to teach her, it has motivated me to get some projects started. Now I just have to get them done..... The best was getting to know Rowan. What a sweet disposition this little man has. I enjoyed every minute! These are some of the things we did.....................
We visited Deedra and Tammy and this is Jack and Rowan doing some bonding.
We went to dinner at Michelle and Stillman's on Sunday and Rowan got a sucker. Check out the drool! He got in a few licks and then we took it away from him. Are we mean or what?
We had a Mother's Day dinner at Traci's the 1st night Heather got here and after dinner we played "Fact or Crap" with the kids. Rowan and Sophia look like they made quite a team!
We made quilts. Traci taught Heather how to do the Crazy Eights and she did a darn good job! I got one started but didn't get as far as Heather did.
We went to the park. Here is Rowan and Mom on the "merry go round".....

We baked a lot and Rowan like playing with the utensils!

We made Strawberry/Mixed berry Freezer jam!

We went out for ice-cream (several times) ....LOL Grandpa Tony and Rowan were looking at the big American Flag!
We had a Mother's Day BBQ at my house. Mommy was feeding Rowan some applesauce.
Mmmmm good!
We got together one day with Traci, Andrew and Isabel to do some crafting. Here's Isabel giving Rowan a big hug!

Rowan got to swing at the park.

Sharing toys with cousin Andrew!

We went shopping at Costco (as well as some other stores).... Rowan likes to ride in the carts!

I taught Heather how to make "rag quilts". This was her 1st. She gave it to her friend Tamsen who is due to have a girl in September.
We went to the Nampa Farmers Market. It must have been boring for Rowan!

I loved on this little man DAILY!
I gave Heather a bread recipe and we made rolls! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, good!

Heather made another "rag quilt" for a friend in Utah. I tell ya, we were busy. I also taught her how to make a beaded watch, a beaded necklace, and cross stitch. (She's still working on that) She had 2 friends over to visit and we also went to Meridian to visit one. We watched a few movies, we went couponing with Traci. It was a very fun productive time. I will take her to the Airport early this afternoon. I will truly miss them.

A CONTINUANCE OF MOTHER'S DAY SURPRISES AND FUN CELEBRATIONS !

Friday night, Traci invited me out for" A Mother's Day Dinner". That is where Heather and Rowan surprised me with their attendance! It was a great surprise but I squealed so loud I scared Rowan and he cried for the 1st 15 minutes and wouldn't come to me! He warmed up nicely since the 1st initial shock!
After dinner we all went to "The Ice Cream Shop" in Kuna. Andrew enjoyed his cone immensely!
Rowan made faces at the ice cream! Smart Young Man! He'll never have a weight problem! LOL
Sophia, Traci and Isabel enjoying the dessert! It was such a great evening and a great jump start to a lovely "Mother's Day" weekend ! Thanks Traci for helping Heather plan and surprise me!
Sunday we had a Mother's Day BBQ in our backyard. This is Melissa and Nate with Blake, Ellie and Alivia.
Tammy, Chris and Katelynn.
Colby, Krista and Nephi!
Michelle, Stillman, Alex and Jayden.
Heather and Rowan.
Deedra, Garrett, Jack and Nikki!
Great Gramma and Gramma with the two youngest! Jack and Rowan.
Tammy, Heather, Me, Melissa, Michelle, Deedra, Joyce, Lynn and Krista!
To top it all off,......the ole icing on the cake so to speak, Princess and Chris announced they are expecting as well. "Mother's Day" doesn't get any better than this year did!
