LIVIN IT UP AT THE CABIN !

Tony and I went to the cabin with Mom and Dad Wednesday night after I got off work. It was a wonderful 4 days. The weather was lovely in it's own special way. The sun peaked through occasionally but it stormed frequently as well. Dad and Tony got a lot of things accomplished that needed to be done (but there is still a lot of work to do) ........................... The power was out on Thursday night when we got back from Cascade. We had gone into town to buy a few grocery's. After putting away the food by way of a flashlight, we sat down to a rousing game of UNO by candlelight. Dad couldn't handle it so he went to bed. He took a picture of us playing but with the flash you can't even tell it was pitch black in the room.
I finished my "Crazy Eight" quilt and I love it!

I also made three Patriotic rag quilts. A big one and two smaller ones.

Mom and I beaded and made some jewelry while the men worked outdoors. We also sealed the grout in the kitchen and downstairs bathroom as well as the two bathrooms upstairs so ya can't say we didn't do any work. Mom and I both caught colds but other than that it was a great time! We had two hail storms. One at night while we were in bed. It was so loud that it woke us all up. We sat on the porch and watched the one below. It was a fun 4 days!

Sounds like a great four days! I love that you were playing uno in the dark! That's dedication! Your quilts look great, and I'm hoping you'll teach me how to make a crazy eight quilt while I'm there!

Just as I read the part that the power was out I was thinking about a time many years ago when we played Uno by candle light and had to eat the gallon of ice cream in the freezer before it melted. I love doing things like that when the power goes out! As it turns out, I was eating ice cream Thurs night here at home with my visiting teaching group. But it's a lot more fun in the dark. Glad you were able to have some good R&R. Oh, and I love watching storms when we're at the cabin. Wish I could've been there!
