Ya know the quilts I've been making for our "Work Project"...........................Well, the boss comes over today and after looking at the one that's finished, says to me
..."Do you really like these rag quilts?" (I'm a little miffed right now) I told her I like them and she says to finish up the 2
nd one I have nearly completed and then do a tied quilt. She said,
"They seem messy to me." ( Well duh! They are a rag quilt!!) I think all she really likes is the price!
Sometimes I feel so under appreciated.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

well you're right, you really can't please everybody. we all have different tastes. I think the difference with her is that she just speaks her mind without thinking of you and how you'd feel. Although maybe this is just my emotions talking.
that's harsh. i like them :0) even though they are "easy," they still take time and effort, and Anne should appreciate your hard work! hope it all works out in the end......
What a RAG!!! Keep smiling! I love your rag quilts!
How rude! I would have mouthed off. Well actually If I'm being honest with myself. I wouldn't have said anything and then I would have thought of something good to say later, but never gotten the guts to actually say it. I should come into your work and pretend I don't know you and tell everyone how I like your quilts the best and how in style they are right in front of your boss.
...as long as she's willing to bring the quilt frame, LOL... and FWIW, I view the two as fundamentally different in purpose - rag quilts are more "usable" for picnics and playtime, whereas the quilted/tied quilts (with batting, hello???) are strictly for snuggling/bedtime.
They're different. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, (although some people have a severe tact shortage), but if we learn to appreciate more things for what they *are* than what we think some particular ideal should be, we'll all be a lot happier! ;-)
@Brigitte - GREAT idea!!! I've been in there & met her before, I think, or I'd join ya, LOL! :-)
