SOME DAYS, YA JUST HAVE TO..........

I'm getting a little tired of my job! I know, I know, I should be thankful I still have one....(and I am) but some days just SUCK! My manager's boys got in trouble 3 months ago and are currently in jail. Since then it has been a constant headache. She leaves early to visit them, she takes the morning or afternoon off for court dates, if it doesn't go well, she takes the entire day...... GET THE PICTURE?
Today is one of her half days. (Hopefully, if things go well at court....... if not, I'm here alone all day!) That means OPEN and CLOSE....no lunch break (OK, that wouldn't hurt me)
I have a deaf girl filling out an application and a lady signing to her and helping her. She brought her baby (which is not allowed and I told her up front but she insisted on filling out the app. I'm such a pushover.) I told her if the office got busy and the baby fussy, she would have to leave and come back at another time. We had to start that rule because you wouldn't believe how many people come to apply for a job and bring half their family! Husband/wife, kids, mother....... I'm not kidding. It's ridiculous!
I have 3 Hispanic women filling out apps. One had her cell phone go off and it's playing some hip hop song. She holds it up and looks at it while the song continues to play full blast! I tell her she can't have her cell phone on while in the office. It's disruptive to others applying. One of the other Hispanic ladies applying has to tell her because she doesn't understand English! ARGhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
The baby is now fussing. The phones are ringing and here comes some more to apply!
I tell myself.....I LOVE MY JOB.... I LOVE MY JOB...I LOVE MY JOB!

Hang in there. At least you have a reunion to look forward to this weekend. Wish I could go too. Maybe next year.

As a manager with my company, I'm often surprised by those things as well.

Also: People showing up for interviews in shorts, flip-flops, and/or t-shirts with offensive sayings.

I think we need to start teaching more professionalism and common courtesy in our school systems!!!

Oh, my word - what a horrible day!!! And while you're bustin' your butt, you have to keep feeling like the bad guy for trying to maintain some decent, "think-able" atmosphere...

Eesh. I'm so sorry... hope today goes MUCH better!!!
