IT'S THURSDAY, THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH AND I'M TIRED..........................

I don't feel like doing anything today! I think I'm a bit depressed. I'm tired! Had a hard time getting up this morning. Tony is still out of work and I'm trying to not let it get me down but I think it does a bit. He hasn't heard anything from any body and we are going on 9 weeks now.
He said he was going to start applying with places like Lowes and Home Depot, see what happens. I know it's hard on him and I'm sure it bothers him more than it does me so I think we are both down a bit . Sure hope something breaks loose soon. Can't live on Love forever.....ha ha

IT'S CERTAINLY NOT A "MASTERPIECE" ....BUT IT'S DONE !

I made a rag quilt for the "FAMILY REUNION AUCTION"........... it's going to be held in July (as usual) so I went with a " Patriotic Theme" and used old levi's that I've been saving and cutting into squares as well as some patriotic fabric. This is it when I finally got it all put together.
Then I had to cut all the edges, which took me several days to get it all done! Finally finished it so I took it to a laundry mat on my lunch break today and washed and dried it.
This is the final product! Not perfect by any means, but I like it. So much so that I'm going to make one for myself as well!
It's heavy! Will make a good summer picnic blanket. What do you think?

IT'S BEEN NEARLY 5 YEARS................... I guess it's time

I've been serving in Primary in one capacity or another ever since Tony and I got married. I've been in the Presidency and a teacher to several different classes. The most recent has been a teacher for the 10 and 11 year old girls. (for the past two years) There are 20 plus girls in the class! I've enjoyed it but I guess the Lord needs me else where. I was released today in Sacrament and sustained to be the ............................................. (drum roll please) Relief Society Secretary!!! I'm not sure how I feel just yet. I enjoyed Primary and this year I was team teaching with another sister and it was great! The girls sure made me feel good! They were all upset to have me leave and I got all kinds of love and hugs today!

But, I'm sure the Lord wants me to learn something new and I will do the best job I can with His help!

HORSIN AROUND IN KUNA~

After the soccer game we drove to Kuna to watch Sophia and Isabel who were competing in a "Horse show" .......their 1st! This picture is a bit blurry. Sophia was practicing when we arrived. She was in the 1st competition! Here's Isabel before her competition!
Love that toothless grin!
Sophia was in a competition called "Walk, Trot". There were 4 contestants and all but Sophia were adults. This was her FIRST Competition and she placed 3rd! She was pretty darn excited!

Here she is out in the arena, doing her thing!

She's trotting her horse "Sparks" in this picture. Sorry, it's a bit blurry again!

After they all went around the arena doing the commands that were announced over the PA system, they were told to pull their horses up in the front center of the arena for the placements to be announced. This is what Sophia is doing here. This is where they announced she placed 3rd out of 4 but we were pretty proud of her cuz all the others were adults. She was in another competition with 6 others (all adults again) and she placed 5th.
Way to go Sophia!!!! Isabel was in a "Lead, walk" competition and her Gramma Ann, led the horse and Isabel rode. This competition was all children.
After the competition, they all pulled their horses up in the center front of the arena and the judges came and spoke to each child individually! Then they all received a 1st place ribbon! It was pretty cute!

Here's Isabel, Sophia and Ann with the horse "Sparks" and the girls have their ribbons! It was fun to watch them horse around!

SOCK IT TO ME.....

Tony and I went to Deedra's this morning so Tony could fix Deedra's door going out to the garage.....not fixed yet ..... but it's a work in progress!
We went with Deedra to Nikki's soccer game at 11AM. We always have a good laugh watching five year olds play balls.
Nikki looks like she's gonna kick it......I think~

This time she's gonna let her team mate, Blake, have a turn at it!

Time out for Nikki! Get under those blankets and warm up! YEP, another cool day!
Garrett's got a big cheesy grin!

ROAD TRIP

I took Tuesday off and Tony and I left for Twin Falls so he could sign the books for Eastern Idaho. We got away about 9:30 by the time we filled the car with gas, and we arrived in Twin about 11:30 AM. We went immediately to the Union Hall and he signed in. It doesn't look quite as bleak as Boise but there are still around 100 on Book One and around 50 on Book Two. We'll see what happens....... He is now eligible for Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Pocatello area's as well as Boise area.
Since we made the trip down we decided to make a day of it and do some sight seeing. We hadn't seen the new Twin Falls Temple so we went there 1st. It is beautiful. The grounds are immaculate and the flowers were lovely. The weather was absolutely perfect. It was high 70's, no wind and sunny!
We then went to the Shoshone Falls and it was the 1st time I've seen them with the complete Spring Runoff! It was spectacular! I even got the rainbow!

We walked up a path to a higher vantage point so got a nice shot of the entire Falls!

These Falls are BIG!! But this chubby couple almost blocks them out entirely! LOL

One of the many beautiful sights our lovely State of Idaho, has to offer!!

We also went up the road to the small park and swimming area. We need to make a trip here in the summer! It is so calm and serene! If I had brought my suit, I'd have gone swimming!.............NOT! LOL
Below is a video of the falls. Just to give you an idea of it's magnificence!!
We then went to an Italian Grill called "Tomato's" and had lunch and drove back to Boise. It was 5:30 when we arrived home so we immediately drove to a couple's home that we home and visit teach. After visiting with them for a bit we came home and Tony completed his on line application for work overseas. Now we wait and see what happens...... We'll keep ya'll posted!

DECISIONS...DECISIONS

Tony and I have been trying to decide what to do about our future. I joked about sending him to Iraq with Curtis when he was 1st put on a temporary lay off but now it is actually one of our considerations. (Not so funny now) Last night we visited with Mom and Dad Norton and then went to Deedra's to talk to her. Curtis just happened to be on line talking to her so he gave us some leads. The company he is working for has a hiring freeze at the moment but he gave us a couple of other company names as well as a fellow to speak with here. We will also probably take a couple of days next week and go to Eastern Idaho (Twin Falls, Idaho Falls & Pocatello) and he will sign the books there. We may also go to Utah and check there as well. The draw back with those places is he has to find a place to live and pay room and board as well as his travel back and forth. All we do know for sure is there is NOTHING here. We are just not sure what it is we should do. We are praying about it and appreciate all of your prayers on our behalf.
SCARY TIMES !

WAITED 6 WEEKS AND IT'S OVER.......

I went home at lunch and made myself a PB & J and while I was eating I noticed a call on the caller ID from Alloway Electric. I immediately called Tony. He was at his parents working on the hardwood floors. He wondered why they didn't call his cell. I went back to work and was hopeful that it was good news. He's been on a temporary layoff for 6 weeks and we've just been waiting for things to pick up. I got a call a little later from Tony and he said he's been layed off completely. Business hasn't picked up and the HP job may not even happen. They had to lay off several more and Tony's one of them. He was on his way to Alloway to turn in his phone and uniform shirts and then he is going to the Union Hall to sign the books. I' m sick. When will this economy turn around?

HELLO TO ALL MY GOOD LOOKIN BLOGGIN FRIENDS!!!

Today is National
"HOLY COW, YOU"RE HOT DAY !"
Send this to someone gorgeous, BUT, Don't send it back to ME....I've been getting this message all day !!!

I'M GIVING IT UP.......SERIOUSLY !

As a lot of you know, my drink of choice is usually a caffeinated POP! I love Coca-Cola ! I also love Pepsi and I have been know to consume Dr. Pepper or even Royal Crown......I just love that caffine! I know, I know....NOT GOOD! Heather remembers (I'm sure) when I was single and living in Boise, there was a sale on Coke & Pepsi products. $1.99 a 12 pack! I stocked up and had literally 50 plus cases in my garage! At the time , it was Heaven!
Well, it's 20 years later and I'm 75 pounds heavier and recently there have been 3 people in our Ward that are our age or a little younger that have had "heart attacks". One has died, one has aged considerably and is now walking with a walker (which is an improvement from the wheel chair) and the other is at home now but I haven't heard much yet about his condition. I'm taking dinner in tonight to the family so will find out then.

Anyway, the whole thing has got me to thinking that I'm certainly not getting any younger and I need to take better care of my self as well as my hubby! I know it's NOT just the pop, but that certainly contributes to the poor eating/drinking choices. I've decided (like Jill) to give it up! It has been so hard to pass up the Gem Stop when I'm on my way back to work from lunch. I use to stop there frequently and get a 32 oz. refill for $.78. There was one lady named Tammy who would always give it to me FREE if it was a refill. Well, you know how I am when something is FREE! I can't resist! I must have 8 of those cups that I use when I go in for a refill! I TOSSED THEM ALL!
It will be hard but I've got to make my drink of choice good ole h20! I know it will benefit me in the long run! Once I get this mastered, I've got to change a lot of my eating habits. I'll work on not eating sweets ..... baby steps! Hopefully I can live to a ripe old age!

DID SOMEBODY SAY IT WAS SPRING ?????

What's up with this weather? Nice one day and then cold, windy and wet for about the next 4 and then back to one nice day again !! I must admit, our yard is nice and green and a lot of my flowers are up but I have "ONE"......yes I said "one" , "numero uno" Daffodil! I have all kinds of stems that came up but only 1 actually budded into a flower! How disappointing!
I hope I have better luck with my Tulips. I'll keep you posted!
Really wish I could say these pictures were from my yard but as you guessed......they are NOT!!!

TELL ME........DOES IT LOOK BETTER ??

As you know, my dear husband has been doing projects around the house while he's been laid off. One of them was to take EVERYTHING out of the garage (if it was on the floor) wash and strip all the gunk off the floor and then he applied epoxy paint and sprinkled paint chips on the wet paint. This is the floor in the beginning process. It took about a week and a half from start to finish.

It looked a little better after all the crap was cleaned off.

And now it looks like this! Much better in my opinion!

It's hard to see the paint chips but believe me, it is lovely now and we can finally park in the garage again! Saturday after our Easter picnic, we came home and spent the remainder of the day putting everything back in and then we washed our cars and let them come back in, LOL

FOR ALL MY WOMEN FRIENDS WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH WEIGHT ISSUES...........

I just got this hilarious picture via an email and nearly chocked on my donut....LOL
Seriously, I wasn't eating a donut but still nearly choked! Ya gotta admit.....this is priceless!
I saw Kathleen Turner on "Marley and Me" and she looks like a linebacker so I guess it DOES happen to the best of us at some point in our lives. LOL

OK, I know there are a lot that keep their figures with a lot of self control and hard work but this still did my heart good! LOL
