MY HOUSE PROTECTOR

I got home from walking last night and I noticed this little fellow on the top of the porch. He's not really a little fellow .... He was about 2 1/2 inches long!! He was walking along the ledge (upside down) and his front leg would reach out and grab those little bugs that seem to hang out out in the fuzzy crap that gets all over your house ...... (well, it gets all over mine anyway) and eat them! I thought they were called a Katydid and so I looked it up on line and sure enough! I guess they are predominately a nocturnal insect but it was a bit overcast last evening and he must have been hungry so he ventured out before dark! lol They are related to grasshoppers and crickets and they have a loud mating call. (my kind of bug! he he) Just thought he was interesting!

Awesome!!! I LOVE helpful bugs like that - Praying Mantises are my favorite, but Katydids are a close second! :) That's cool that they're helping you out, too!!! :)

I would have called that one the "Leaf bug", lol because that's what the wings look like.
