NEVER ASSUME

Never assume your always healthy ....... I volunteered to give blood on Monday night after work. I was reminded when I got home and heard the answering machine saying " LaVerne, you were suppose to give blood at 4:30. We can still take you if you get here soon" ..... I jumped back in the car ... rushed to the church .... opps, wrong building .... jumped back in the car, rushed to the Stake House. Go through all the pre-procedures ..... then they stick me to see if I'm "good to give" ...... no, your anemic. BUT, we can stick the other finger, sometimes that works ......
OK, that's what I came for so go ahead and stick the other hand ..... No, it's worse than the 1st stick. GO HOME! I've decided that since I've got older, I'm not a very good doner. The time before this, my vein collapsed so I was sent packing then too.
Never assume that just because it's "SPRING BREAK" were gonna have warmth and sunshine! We had a doozy of a sleet/snow storm on Tuesday.

And Never Assume that you can read other peoples minds. Just because you think you might know what someone would want doesn't mean your right.
Lesson learned this week.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER

LOVE MY KIDS ~~~~~~~

I started my weekend on Thursday night this past weekend. Heather came to town to plan her 10 year class reunion for Borah High so Thursday night we went to Ann and Dan's for Andrew's 2nd birthday. Traci was going to work all day on Friday and Saturday they left for San Diego. Traci was out buying pizza when we arrived but we were greeted by Caden, Sophia and Isabel!
They were excited to see Rowan and Rowan was pretty darn happy to see them too!
It was so cute when Traci arrived with the pizza. As soon as her door was open you could hear Andrew saying "Hi Rowan" but it was more like Hi Wowan" lol ...
Here's the birthday boy with his cake getting ready to blow out the candle!

The 1st gift Andrew opened was a bag of goodies from his Gramma Ann and it had a bag of balloons in it. That was ALL he wanted! He kept handing people balloons and saying "blow" and then he'd pop it and squeal with joy! Next year I'll know! lol

His hands got tired of squeezing the life outta the balloons so he resorted to a fork in order to make short order of them. He sure had fun.

Traci gave Rowan some old toys of Andrews and he was pretty happy with this one. It makes all kinds of noise! Heather put it in the car seat beside him for the trip home to keep him entertained ....... wonder if it drove her crazy? lol

I don't know what it is about "BUZZ LIGHT YEAR" and little boys but he seems to be the favorite of a lot of my grandson's! Rowan watched "TOY STORY" a lot while he was at my house and was thoroughly mesmerized!

Look at all my teeth! ........... He's got a mouthful for a 18 month old!

Saturday night we went to Tammy and Chris's for Katelynn's Birthday party!
Rowan let Uncle Chris hold him for a very short while! Let's just say he was down and running immediately after this shot! ha ha !

Katie with mom and dad and that cheesy cousin Blake!
Katelynn kept telling me she was fowe. I love the language of children!!
She loves "Land Before Time" movies so she wanted a dinosaur cake.
She had several toys to play with after we cleaned up the delicious cake!
She got some new sunglasses from G & G Norton and couldn't wait to try them on.
I quite like the stylish Fisher Price logo between her eyes!

Heather and Rowan left this morning. They stopped by my work to say goodbye because I was gone before they got up. It was so fun to see them. 5 months is just too long in between visits!
It was a fun weekend with lots going on.
I sure love my kids!

ALEX TURNS FIVE !!

Well, we celebrated our 5th family birthday for the month of March and we have 2 more to go before the month is over! Alex turned 5 on the 17th but his party was this evening. It was a super hero party and the kids had a blast.
His cake was Batman & Robin! Michelle did a great job!
He got several gifts with a "Super Hero" theme and he was sure excited about that!! You can tell by the expression on his face!
This was his favorite and it must have been Nephi's too! lol Nephi was sitting on his daddy's lap and you could hear his hoops and hollars over all the noise! It was so cute and funny. We wish we'd had it on video!

All the little boys were very interested in the "Super Hero" games Alex received!!
I can't believe how quickly these grandkids of ours are growing up!! Seems like just yesterday, they were all born.
Happy Birthday Alex!

"NEW MOON" @ DEEDRA'S ....

Deedra threw a "New Moon" party tonight. We started early (5PM) so we could eat and then watch the movie and still get home at a good time so we'd be well rested for church tomorrow!

LOL ..... The best laid plans go astray ....yet again! By the time everyone arrived, we started to eat around 5:30 or so. It took a while to get 5 little children to agree on a movie for them to watch and then it took the rest of the evening to keep them interested in watching it!

.... Let's just say, THEY DIDN'T .... well, Nikki did but the other's were having too much fun making a lot of noise in the adult room! We were about ten minutes into the movie when Chris called to say he'd left his keys and coat in Tamara's car so we paused and she went home to give them to him. When she came back, she had Chris and Stilllman too.

They were suppose to go play rugby but the game was canceled.

The meal was goooood! We had "Vampire Teeth" ....AKA: Bugles

We also had "Wolf Biscuits ( mostzerella cheese sticks), Dracucakes ( mini quiches), Stakes thru the Heart (taquitos), Stay out of the Sun" chips (obvious) , apples with Carlisle caramel" ......
We also had a huge subway sandwich and brownies!
It was nummy! A meal worthy of a Vampire and a Werewolf!

We all devoured it .... except Krista! The girl has an iron will! She stuck to her rice cakes and green apple .... less the caramel!

It went longer than we anticipated but it was a fun !

We all had a biting good time!!

Thanks Deedra!

MAN, I LOVE SHOPPING WITH TRACI !!

It was a short night BUT well worth it!

Traci called me around 10:30 Friday night. I'd just got back from my friends house and was working on the binding for a baby blanket. She asked me if I wanted to go grocery shopping with her on Saturday morning. She had lots of doubler's and she knows how to use them so I said

"NOT ONLY YES, BUT HECK YES!!!"

I was planning on sleeping in this morning but I couldn't pass up this deal so I got up at 7AM and cleaned up a bit and headed for Kuna. I met her at the house cuz I wanted to see the progress.

She's got the kitchen cabinets in and they are sure nice. They are a bit darker than the floor but they bring out the darker pieces in the floor and it looks great! This is the little cubby in kinda of a corner and it will have granite on top in another week.

The microwave and sink will be in this part and of course, more granite!

The dishwasher and double oven will be here.
And of course the bannister was all wood previously and now it is a combination of wood and iron and it looks awesome!
This is gonna be so much better than before! Very lovely!

After looking at the house, we loaded up Isabel and Andrew and headed to Boise to the ProPeople office to print off coupons. Isabel entertained Andrew while we turned on 5 computers and downloaded the coupons we needed.

During our shopping spree, Andrew found the sunglasses display and tried some on! I got a picture of his snotty nose and dirty face and he still looked adorable! lol

He loved the automatic carts and I'm sure if he'd been able to get it going we'd still be there!

By the end of the shopping trip he was getting a little tired. We hit 3 Albertsons in downtown Boise. Traci and Jason just bought a new Suburban (well new to them) but it's really nice! I meant to take a picture of the outside of it but I forgot to!

I was just too excited about my shopping deals!!!
20 cans of frozen juice, 5 boxes of crystal light, 4 boxes of Colgate toothpaste, 3 Suave deoderants, 3 bags of taco chips, 1 jar of nacho cheese dip, 3 boxes of saltine crackers, 6 boxes of cereal and 3 bottles of Loreal liquid makeup !!!

ALL FOR JUST UNDER $25.00 !! One bottle of the makeup ALONE was $14.95!!
MAN! I love to get deals like that!!

FAMILY VISITS & BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS!

My niece Charcie and her boyfriend Ben left today. It was a funny day to say the least. When they came home from visiting his relatives in Meridian last night, they accidentally locked the keys in Charcie's car. After waiting up 45 minutes for the locksmith, they were finally able to call it a day.

This morning, Ben was going to leave so he could be back in time for Priesthood and Charcie was going to attend Sacrament meeting with me and then leave for home...... However, we forgot about the time change, so we were all running a bit late. Ben and Charcie said their goodbyes and then she came in to finish getting ready for church.

All of a sudden, Ben was back in the house ...... get this ....
He locked his keys in his car!! (Is he twitterpated or what ?? lol)

I left for church and Charcie said she was going to wait for the locksmith with Ben and would come late. After Sacrament meeting, I looked for her but no Charcie!
I went to my other meetings and went home. I was thinking I would just have a bowl of cereal because I wanted to pick up my house a bit and get ready for the Relief Society Presidency who were coming to my house at 2PM for a meeting. I pull into the driveway to find both the kids cars still there.
I find out that Ben had to sweet talk the locksmith into a free car opening because he didn't have $75 dollars or that particular benefit on his insurance.
That was great but the bad thing was he had to wait till the locksmith was on this end of town.
SO, I proceeded to make them taco's for lunch (much better than the cereal I planed on eating) and we visited after lunch till the Presidency got here for the meeting.
The kids went in the other room and we sisters did our thing. After an hour and 1/2, we finished. By now it's 3:45. Charcie finally pulls herself away at 4:15 when they got a call from the locksmith saying he would be here in 15 minutes or so.
My Visiting teacher and her husband came at around the same time and as we were visiting, Ben said good bye to me cuz the locksmith was here.
We were talking and all of a sudden I notice Ben back up on the porch so I yelled for him to come in. He did and then he tells me his car battery is dead and his car won't start!
At this point, it's funny .... but it's not! (if you know what I mean) Poor kid! If anything could go wrong ....it did! (Although, ya gotta look on the good side and appreciate all the extra time they got to spend with one another)
Anyway, my visiting teacher's husband jumped his car which took a good 15 minutes to get started! Seriously, I was beginning to think I might be putting him up for another night! (I wouldn't have minded, he is an awesome kid! He and Charcie will be wonderful together!!

Then this evening, I went to Mom and Dad Norton's to celebrate birthdays for Blake and Mom Norton. We started out by making Blake crawl through every one's legs so we could spank him.
I got a nice shot of Nathan's good side but not his better half! lol

Blake turned 9 years old and had we had a couple of delicious chocolate cakes to commemorate his 9 years and Mom's 78!

I guess Grandma needed help blowing out her candles cuz several helped her! lol

I made her a new necklace and earrings. She put them on and I'm sure she will wear them with pride!

It was a fun and chaotic day!
Pretty normal for this household! lol

BUSY IS A GOOD THING .....

WOW! The busyness begins already!! lol
Tony's been gone 1 day and I've been going 100 miles a minute again! I got up this morning and made a nice breakfast of pancakes, orange juice, bacon and eggs for Charcie and Ben, Then they took off for Boise to go to the zoo and possibly Municipal Park and then out to Meridian to see his relatives.
I got a call from Traci and she said Sophia was in her 2nd horse show this afternoon. I got in the car and headed to Kuna. I stopped at the house 1st because Traci and Jason were painting trim and I wanted to see how things were looking.
Andrew was as busy as ever. He was pushing a broom, cleaning up the place ya know! lol
The trim and base boards are really classy! It's coming together and is really gonna be nice when it's all done!

I can't wait to see the kitchen when the cub boards and counter top are in! It's gonna be beautiful!

Another view from the front corner of the living room. It looks big and spacious! Amazing what a big difference it made to take out the one doorway and shorten the wall!

After checking out the house, Traci and I headed over to Ann's to see the horse competition!
Here's our little cowgirl on good ole SPARKS!

After Sophia was finished riding in her events, Gramma Ann let Isabel ride for a bit. I guess she is gonna start training to be in competitions pretty soon as well!
Here's Sophia with her ribbons! She placed 6th in one event and 4th in two others! WAY TO GO SOPHIA!!
Tonight, I got a call from Heather and she and Jon and Rowan are gonna come in a few weeks to see me and go to Heather's 10 year class reunion. It will be great to see them. It's been 6 months so it's time!!
