WONDERFUL WEEKEND~ WONDERFUL HUSBAND

I was able to go down to Salt Lake City this past weekend and I had a wonderful time! I left Friday at 2PM. (I skipped lunch for a couple of days so I could leave early) .... After seeing my pictures, I've decided to take the 8 week challenge and skip a few more lunches ...lol more about that later)

My niece Charcie was married last weekend in Portland and she and her husband and had another reception in Tremonton Friday night so I was able to stop and wish them well. I didn't stay for the reception because I wanted to get to Heather's before dark but it was good to get to see them. They are such a cute couple!
I got to Heather's around 7:30PM. They just bought a home in Layton and it is so cute! They are doing a fair amount of fixing up and they have replaced the floors with tile and pergo and new carpet and it is soooooo nice!! I was excited to get to see their new home!!

We gave Rowan a Buzz Lightyear for his 2nd birthday and he was in 7th Heaven! He LOVES Buzz and so he was one happy camper!
They gave me a lovely new shirt which I absolutely love! Thanks kids!

Saturday, Heather and I put primer paint on the walls of one of the bathrooms so Jon could paint while we were at the Women's Conference.
We went into Salt Lake and it was awesome to get to go to the Conference Center to hear the messages from The General Relief Society Presidency but especially from President Monson! I loved every minute of it and even in the midst of all those thousands of women, we saw women we knew!! Heather saw her sister in law and I saw a friend I knew when I lived in the 23rd ward in Boise years ago! It was great!!
We had pretty good seats too! Although, I don't think there is a bad seat in the house!! lol

Afterwards, we met up with my little sister Lori and she treated us to dinner at the GateWay Mall ..... a restaurant that Heather use to work at before she was married! (The Typhoon!)
It was sooooo good! It was great to see Lori and we had a great visit!
Jon called us as we were finishing up dinner and asked when we were coming home. Evidently, Rowan decided to do a little painting himself while Jon was washing the big picture window in the kitchen. He got paint all over the new tile and some on the new carpet.
Heather and I were panicked because we didn't know just how bad it was so we were trying to get back home in a hurry. We had to stop in Farmington to get gas and Heather went through a yellow light and a police officer pulled in right behind us as (lights a blinking) as we pulled up to the gas pump. He asked us where we'd been and we told him. He went back to his car and we thought for sure we were going to get a hefty ticket.
He came back and told Heather he was going to just give her a warning but that she had to go in and get a Utah license because she still has an Arizona one. WOW! What a relief!
We continued on home to see the damage.
Jon had done a pretty good job of getting the paint off the carpet but there was still a fair amount in the grout of the tile. I got an old tooth brush and started scrubbing with little success until I started using some paint thinner. It came up pretty good then. There's a trace but it could have been much worse!
The funny thing was all the paint on Rowan!! He had it all over his hands and feet (it was dry by this time and not coming off real well) Heather was calling him Picasso at this point!!
Here he is giving us a raspberry in the tub!
It was a fun weekend and I was able to get home Sunday evening in time to SKYPE with my WONDERFUL HUSBAND! Thank you Tony for allowing me to go to Utah and have such a great weekend. I love you with all my heart and appreciate the good man you are and the sacrifice you are making for us. YOUR THE BEST!!! ........ And, the Bronco's won!! Whoo hoo!!

59 AND COUNTING ~

Well, it's not the "S" word but it's dang close!!
I turned 59 today!
I worked the late shift and when I arrived at work, Nancy had my computer looking like this....

Then she was kind enough to make me a nice breakfast of bananas, apples and a cinnamon roll!

Very Sweet! I heard from ALL my kids by phone and several more on Facebook as well as Birthday wishes from nephews, nieces, cousins and my sisters and friends! I even got a Birthday wish from my X husband! ha ha! That was unexpected! Anyway, it was awesome! I got like 25 messages! I loved it!!

Later in the afternoon, I was surprised by Krista and Nephi! They brought me a Smiley balloon and a plate of delicious chocolate cookies! Mmmmmmm, they were so good!

A couple of days ago Nate asked me if I would take Ellie to her soccer practice tonight because they went to a Retirement party for a co-worker. Aunt Becky dropped Ellie off at 5:30 at my office and we left for Liberty Park about 5:45. She played at the park while we waited for her team to show up ............

Finally about 6:45 another family showed up and confirmed to me that I was at the right park. Then 15 minutes later the mother of Ellie's team mate comes up to me and tells me that she just realized that the practice was canceled and they were getting their pictures taken at a different location~ SO, Ellie and I went to Burger King and had a burger! PARTY ON!! lol
I got a call from my parents when I got home and then from Tony ...... My parents remembered....Tony didn't! ha ha. He said the days just roll right into each other. I totally understand and I'm not offended. I love him and realize that when ya work everyday straight for 4 months, it's bound to mess with your mind!! I won't let him off the hook when he's back home though! ha ha
Anyway, I'm leaving for Utah tomorrow after work to celebrate with Jon, Heather and Rowan.
It will be a great weekend and an even better birthday if the BRONCO"S kick Oregon's Butt.

MISSED THE MEMO !!

I guess I'm gonna have to start scoping out Tony's email while I'm at home cuz I missed the cancellation email from Melissa about Alivia's birthday celebration. (oops!)
They have all been sick so she sent out an email telling us the party would be next Sunday!
I showed up on their doorstep this evening and Nate told me to come on in but to beware I may get ill!
Time will tell~ I did enjoy seeing the kids, Nate, Becky and Gramma Pam. Melissa was taking a bath so I missed her,
Tony and I gave Livvie a Lambskin leather coat (I got a Killer Deal on this ..... FREE)
It was a wee bit big on her but I'm sure she'll get lots of use out of itShe looked so cute modeling it for us!

Here she is showing me her new scooter! Tassells and all!

Big sister Ellie was pushing her around the house on it. Pretty good when you can get two on a scooter! Awhhhhh, to be little again!
It was fun to celebrate with her today and guess we'll do a repeat next Sunday with you all! lol

REMEMBERING 9/11

D&C 101:79 & 80
Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in bondage one to another.
And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose....
I'll never forget where I was and what I was doing the day terrorist's struck the twin towers.
Our country needed our prayers then ~ and our country needs our prayers NOW.
I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for my liberties and to the great forefathers of this country who by the hand of God, established our constitution.
God bless America.

TONY ....THIS BLOG'S FOR YOU~

I love having a 3 day weekend!! I had a busy one but accomplished A LOT!!

Saturday, I cleaned house and then my friend Mary and I fed the missionaries. Saturday evening I just relaxed and finished preparing my lesson for Relief Society.

Sunday, I went to church, gave my lesson and we had a great time at choir practice. Sunday evening, Tony and I tried to SKYPE but for some reason we couldn't hear each other so we wrote notes on paper and held it up to the camera! It wasn't very effective but pretty darn funny!

Today is Labor Day so I decided to work and hold true to the name of the day!

I started off by spraying all around my house for spiders.

Then I weed eat ed the yard and then mowed.

I then fertilized the yard.

Next I sprayed Roundup on all the weeds again. Tony told me to do it 2 weeks after he did so it was time.
I ended up cleaning up the patio, and putting away the hammock and chairs for winter.

LOOKING GOOD !

I then came inside, took a shower and I did my laundry and cleaned my fridge.

NOW IT"S TIME FOR THE BIG GAME!!

I was expecting a larger group of party goers but Deedra and Curtis decided to go to the Butterfields because his sister was visiting and leaving tomorrow.
Krista didn't come either because she wasn't feeling well but we had Colby, Nephi and Colby's friend. Chris, Tammy and Katelynn. Mom and Dad Norton and Bob Haverfield. It was a nice small group and we made plenty of noise !!

And WOW, what a game!! The Bronco's came out fighting and we dominated the 1st quarter! 20 to zip! The 2nd quarter Virginia Tech pushed hard and there's no denying it ....their good!

They scored and caught up and at half time we were only ahead by 1 point!

3rd quarter they scored again and we were behind .....

With just a minute and 1/2 left in the game, the Bronco's gave it all they had and we scored to win the game by 3 points !!

BRONCO TOUCHDOWN!!!!

YES KELLEN, YOU DID IT AGAIN !!

HAPPY FANS !!

HAPPY COACH !!

HAPPY TEAM !!

HAPPY QUARTERBACK !!

TOTALLY AWESOME GAME! GO BRONCO'S !!
And sweetheart, I wish you'd been here to enjoy OUR TEAM!
