LONG MAY SHE WAVE !!~

I was so happy to get up this Memorial Day morning and open my blinds to this! Old Glory!
The Scouts in our ward raise money by placing flags in yards 6 times a year. Tony use to have it done but we haven't since we've lived in this house so I signed us up again!
Then I went out and mowed the lawn and weedeated and then hung our flag as well!

It's a good windy day so Old Glory is flying proud and free! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

JUST BUSY BEING GRAMMA ~

I've had to open and close shop the last two days as Nancy has taken some time off. Heather spent her last days visit with Traci buying fabric for a purse, taking the grand kids to McDonald's for lunch, going to Jumpin Jungle and finishing off the day working on decorations for the Birthday party that Traci is helping with tonight. (OK, that was a stretch ......She's basically doing it all! Decorations, games, etc! It's for a Doctor's 5 year old)

Anyways the girls asked me to come out to Kuna when I got off work to go to the Pinewood Derby because the little girls were racing. When I got there Traci was finishing up making a bunch of tissue paper flowers for the party. We loaded up the family and headed to the church.

They don't have a lot of Scouts so the girls get to race cars as well! (Achievement Days) Here's Sophia and Isabel proudly showing off their cars!

Time to weigh in! Dad's helping them make sure the weight is just right!

Even Andrew made one and was trying to weigh his car all by himself!! lol
He eyed those trophy's and wanted one !!

Hmmmm! Maybe I need a little more than 25 cents worth of weight! lol What do ya think Gramma??

Rowan eyed all the cars and was pretty excited about the upcoming races!

I'm sure he would have loved to get his little hands on several of them! The cars were all interesting! There was a "Justin Bieber Mobile" (Justin was plastered all over it ....and it was VERY fast!! (a "MaryKay Car" It was all pink and pretty! lol)

a "School Bus" ..... (seriously a bus and for the shape of it ..... it was pretty fast too!)

...even one with two passengers glued to the top! (make my picture bigger & check it out .... so funny)

It was fun to see how clever little boys and girls can be!

Rowan got really excited when the cars raced! He'd clap and say "YAY"!! It was so cute!

The girls watching and waiting patiently while the Scouts raced.

I hadn't been to a Pinewood Derby in a lot of years and it was really fun to watch! I couldn't believe how technical the track is! All hooked up to a computer and all! ......

AMAZING really!!

Andrew was hilarious! He raced his car all over the gym instead of down the track! He was pretty proud of his "Lighting McQueen" car as he called it! It was a winner in his eyes! He didn't have to prove anything to anybody! lol

As it turned out, Sophia WON 1st place!! Isabel's didn't place (and it broke her heart) boo:( she was so sad BUT hers did beat a lot of other cars and she got to pick where to eat after the race! It was so fun .... and that made her happy!

Looking back, it's been a busy couple of weeks with all the goings on!! Heather is leaving today. She and Rowan stopped by the office to say goodbye!

Do ya think Rowan is unhappy to be going home? LOL Naw, that's just Rowan!

I think he's sad because he can't find his little green "Thomas Train" ........ I'll have to see if I can find it when I clean house.

I'd be sad too!

Rowan painted me a flower with his hand! Awhhhhhh, thanks Rowan! Gramma loves you!

Bye Heather & Rowan! Be safe!! Had a great visit with you two!
NOW .....................

I have a lot to do in the next three days before Tony comes home!

I'm gonna be busy ...... well I've been busy ........ But that's what Gramma's do!

AM I RIGHT ???

ALEX GRADUATES !~

I was invited to the graduation of "ALEX PARKER NORTON" today at lunch. It was a packed house. Luckily, Stillman and Michelle got there early and saved us a seat. As I parked at the Stake house, Deedra pulled up beside me so we walked over together with Garrett and Jack.

The graduates enter and Alex was looking at all the people to see if we were all there!!

Here he is just before being seated on the Graduation Grandstands!!

Each class (there were 3) sang an adorable song!

Then all 3 classes sang together and we were all suppose to sing along. They really got into it! IT WAS SO SO CUTE!

Then they were called up to receive their graduation certificate. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had to leave a wee bit early to get back to work but I was so glad they invited me!!

Congratulations Alex! The Sky is the limit now!!

OUR GLAM BAGS AND GREENBELT!~

Thursday night Heather and I went out to Traci's and we had a little "Assembly Line Sweat Shop" going on! lol Traci had a cute Glam bag pattern and so we all got our fabric and got busy!!

Sophia and Isabel even helped and we had a great time!! Traci cut out all the bags, I started sewing, Heather and Sophia turned and pressed and Isabel pinned pieces together. I was really impressed with the little girls! After Traci was finished cutting she got busy sewing too. We got a lot done but had to quit at 10:00. Both Traci and I had to work Friday and the kids had school.
Today (Saturday) we headed back out and finished.

This is the end result!!

Sophia spent the night at her friends so she wasn't in the picture to show hers off !
I think they turned out pretty darn cute!

We had subway sandwiches after all our hard work and then Heather and I left. Traci had to work this afternoon and Heather and I came back to Nampa and got ready to walk the greenbelt. (Trying to plan the excursion for the Young Women and since the Boise Greenbelt is flooded I decided we would scout out a Nampa route!)

A little drink before going ........

We couldn't get Rowan to nap before our excursion! We told him we were going to see the ducks! He was pretty excited but we discovered the ducks have been WELL FED.....they seemed pretty bored with what we were giving them and wouldn't eat it so Rowan got bored and he fell asleep!!

He stayed that way till it started to sprinkle and that woke him up!! We went home, had some dinner, played a bit and then it was bath time!

And bed time!

Yeah, right! ................................................

Heather is still sitting in there on the floor trying to get Rowan to settle down! That 45 minute nap on the Greenbelt was just enought to give him a 2nd wind! It's almost 10PM and he is still wired!

None the less, it was a fun day!

FULL MOON !!

Went to bed two nights ago and my room was lit up by the light of the silvery moon!
It was pretty cool so I took a picture!
Awesome to see the moon out the window while laying in bed!

But makes it harder to sleep! lol

HAPPY SURPRISE BIRTHDAY TO TRACI

Today is Traci's birthday so I asked her if she could come to Nampa so I could take her out for lunch. She and Andrew showed up at the office at noon and we took off! I asked her if she minded going by my house 1st because there was something I wanted to show her. ( I've asked her to do that several times so she was not alerted to the surprise!)

We got out of the car and went to the front door ..... opened it and Heather and Rowan were standing there with camera in hand (Heather got those pictures) SURPRISE!!
Heather came Sunday night late for a visit.

Traci said she couldn't have been more surprised! We then had sandwiches and chips and I had made a snickers cheesecake for her last night which Heather had prepped with several candles ( not 35 of them however!! lol) . After eating we sang Happy Birthday and she blew out the candles! Andrew was helping from a distance!

It was a fun lunch. We visited for a bit and then Traci took me back to work!

Happy Birthday Traci! I love you! And thanks to Heather for making her Birthday such a success! I love you too!

MOTHER'S DAY CONTINUED ! ~

After church on Sunday, I stopped by Mom and Dad Norton's to give Lynn a gift and I wanted to take a picture of her for Diane. Diane had me order the pretty corsage for her mother and I decided I would take a picture of it to send to Diane so she could see what she bought! lol
I got a call from Jeff just as I pulled up so I had a good visit with him before going in.

I took some pictures of Mom and Dad Norton but I had Dad take one of me and Lynn too.

Then after hugs and well wishes, I took off for Kuna. Got there about 3PM. We had a lovely dinner and then Traci and I took off for Boise to go to "Wicked".
We left about 5PM and the show started at 6:30. It was awesome!!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

We had a lady take our picture at the Morrison Center. I got a corsage from Jason and the kids too so I wore it to the musical. It was beautiful. The show was 3 hours!! An hour and 1/2, then a 20 minute intermission and then another hour! I didn't really know what to expect and it was
very entertaining and well done! It had wonderful music, humor and dancing. The performers were great!!

On my way home I got my cell phone out and found I had messages from Scott, Chris, Stillman and Deedra. Thank you to ALL my kids for all your wishes and love!

I love you all!

PSSS: I got a lovely card that Katelynn made for me. So cute and Alex and Jayden and their folks came over the other night and gave me a very lovely Love Poetry book! AWESOME!!

I missed all the Norton kids on Mother's Day this year!
