BOISE YOUTH CULTURAL CELEBRATION

Saturday the 17th was a HUGE day for us!! Our youth had been practicing for two months and Saturday was the BIG DAY to perform for the prophet. I don't know which Stakes or regions these are, but I do know that they are all LDS youth from all over the valley and some in Oregon. (Our Temple District) The pictures are not in order but it will give you an idea of what was done. I was disappointed that the Statesman didn't publish pictures of our  Stake doing the Hakka and the Irish Jig but there were so many performances that it would have been impossible to get them all.

The dances were all fantastic. I loved the patriotic performance! It gave me goose bumps.

This was Kuna and Caden was in this performance. He was a piece of POPCORN and he did great!! I wish I had a picture of him but I got these pictures off the Internet so I couldn't be choosy!  I did see him on the big screen and like I said, He was great!!

The Basque Dance was a  Meridian Stake. My friend Donna Lisph helped make the costumes!! They were beautiful!

President Monson and Elder Bednar and Elder Walker were in attendance. The Prophet loves these events!! He was so much fun and engaged the youth so well!

This is a  Boise Stake and WOW, did they ever have a ton of youth and a ton of props! It was so much fun and a very cool performance!

This was a Roaring 70's performance and the girls and boys did awesome !

LOVED this one!!  They came out in BSU colors and did a little dance and then some took off their shirts to reveal another BSU shirt and the Oklahoma shirt on others and they did the Famous Statue of Liberty play to the tune of Chariots of Fire. It was all in slow motion and SOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!  Then they presented the football to President Monson!!

There were 70 some fiddlers performing in this number! They played for two of them and one was Boot Scootin Boogie!

This was the closing ceremony!  We had all the value colors and flags from a lot of different countries and a lot of the American Flags! Very moving!!

This performance was done to "Give Said the Little Stream" ....  really cute and colorful!!

President Monson giving a BIG HIG to all the kids in his own special way!

This happened at the very beginning!  President Monson was given some type of card and the kids were applauding and cheering FOREVER so he placed it under his chin and told them they could be seated! It was cute!

More of the Basque Dance!

The FAMOUS STATUE OF LIBERTY PLAY!!!!!

Some of the kids on the floor during the Opening Ceremony and the Closing Ceremony were fortunate enought to get to shake the Prophets hand!!  LUCKEEEEE!!

The 12 and 13 year olds were given yellow flags when they came in and all participated in waving flags during the closing ceremony!

This is the Japanese Fan Dance. Our girls were told at the beginning that we would be doing this one but alas, we didn't get to. It was beautiful!!

The Mexican Hat Dance was so cool. The girls skirts were beautiful and they waved them proudly!

Opening Ceremonies!

And again the Boise Pioneer's Performance!  It was a magnificent day and one I'll never forget. After all the frustration and headache of it all, it was an honor to be in it and the kids came together and performed EXCELLENT! It is amazing to me all the work that went into this. And it is a testimony to me to be able to get this many kids together to put on such a production! But the reason it all came together ...... We were celebrating the opening of of Temple again and the Prophet was our audience!!
