MEMORIAL WEEK END

Tony and I left for Utah after I opened and closed shop on Friday. We got out of town about 6PM. After arriving at Heather's (10:45 PM) I got to read a bedtime story to Rowan and sing "I Am A Child Of God" to him and then he went to sleep. Heather called me when we were getting close and told me Rowan wanted Gramma Ervie to read to him!!  (love how he says my name!) Saturday morning, Tony & Jon got started on the garage shelves bright and early!
By 5 PM they were done and cleaning up all the sawdust!! Tony put up a section at the front of the garage
And a section on the left hand side of the garage. They have lots of storage now!
We played with Rowan while the men worked.
He played with bubbles, and loved getting into the back of Grandpa's truck.
Later in the day, Rowan and Grandpa played "Karate Kid" with the scrap sticks! Tony showed him how to break them with his feet and Rowan LOVED it!!
Rowan loves trains so he built a track with the broken sticks!  CLEVER LITTLE STINKER!
Later that night, Heather had invited Jon's parents for dinner! Heather made a delicious dinner of Chicken Cor don blu, baked corn on the cob, watermelon and Carol brought a broccoli salad. Heather made a WONDERFUL Strawberry/Rubarb pie for dessert! She is a fantastic cook!
And she's as pretty as a picture!! Pregnancy looks good on her!
Sunday after church and dinner (which by the way was delicious too.. tin foil dinners done on the grill) Tony and I drove to the Conference Center and surprised Robin, Debbie and Danae. They were working their shifts. I got some pictures of the girls but missed Robin. Fun to see them and get a little tour besides!
After visiting with Debbie & Danae we drove to Lehi and saw Derek, Rachel and the kids! We got to join in on the celebration of Sarah's 9th Birthday!!

MOVING AWAY PARTY FOR STILLMAN & MICHELE

We had a "GOING AWAY PARTY" for Stillman, Michele & the boys LAST night at "SETTLER'S PARK"  in Meridian! Deedra planned it and it turned out FABULOUS!! The weather was perfect and held out for us till it was time to go!
We were thrilled when Phillip showed up! It was absolutely wonderful to have all the kids (except Derek) together again!! Here they all are with their spouses! Nycole didn't come so we don't have Phillip with his wife but hopefully someday! And of course Deedra is alone because Curtis is working in Afghanistan but someday we hope to get a picture of them All together!
It made Tony so happy to have his little flock all together (except for Derek who is in Utah)  I was thrilled for him. Families are WONDERFUL!! I hope one day to have ALL mine together at the same time too!
We had a wonderful evening, eating and visiting and catching up with Phillip and his family. We got to see pictures of their sweet little baby girl .
We had a great turnout too! Around 40 of us! Family and friends! Stillman and Michele will be GREATLY missed!
And no one will miss them more than his family!! WE ALL LOVE YOU!

SATURDAY NIGHT ... DINNER & GAMES WITH THE NEIGHBORS!

After the soccer games, Tony and I hurried home and got our COWBOY BAKED BEANS and headed across the street to our neighbors for our monthly dinner and game night!
From the left is Sean and Suzzette Jarrett, Tony and me and Chris and Dale Sugg! We are all the same ages and have a lot of likes in common. We enjoy our monthly get togethers!

SATURDAY AFTERNOON ... GRANDKIDS SOCCER TOURNAMENTS

AFTER Parade America, Tony and I did some shopping and then headed home for about a half hour rest before going to 5 soccer games for the grand kids! We started with Alex!
Then on to Livies!
Then to Garrett's!
And then to Ellie's!
And last but not least was Jayden's! We didn't get to see any of them in their entirety but we did manage to watch 20 minutes of each of them. They all did really good and we could see improvement in all of them from last year! It was fun to watch them all !

SATURDAY MORNING .... PARADE AMERICA!!

Saturday morning, Toni and I went to Parade America with our friends Larry & Zella Hendricks. Tony is their Home Teacher And we are always trying to get them to go to go to a church activity so we accepted when they asked us to go to the parade. I'd never been to this yearly event so Tony said it was time I did!  lol
Tony bought me a bid ole hat to help keep the sun off and Larry gave me some BullFrog protectant but I still burned in a couple of places!!
The parade was actually pretty good!!
I liked the BIG RADIO FLYER car!!
There were lots of horses and American flags!!
OLD CARS!!
OLD COSTUMES!!
LARRY got some bubble gum that was thrown and wanted a picture of himself blowing a bubble!
Like I said ... lots of horses!!
There were several bands too!  Nampa High's was the BEST!! Tony tells me they are the best in the State!! It was a fun parade! We enjoyed our selves!

TRACI TURNS THIRTY SIX !

I drove to Kuna after work on Friday night to wish Traci a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" because the entire family was going to see the "AVENGER'S" and dinner later.
Andrew was the only one home with Traci when I got there so he helped his mommy open her gift!
Sophia and Isabel got off the bus shortly after I got there so we all shared a bite if a very chocolatey cake that Traci got from a friend! Didn't get to see Caden  cuz I had to rush back to Nampa for physical therapy! It was fun to see the kids and wish Traci a good day!!

MOVIE WITH JEFF & CYNTHIA CHANDLER

Tony and I finally went to the AVENGER'S last night. We've been hearing how good it is from several people so we were very excited when Jeff and Cynthia Chandler came over last Saturday night to see how i was doing and asked if we would like to go with them for FHE!!  It was so fun and we all enjoyed it and loved the humor!

MOTHER'S DAY 2012

Sunday after church, Lynn invited Tony and me over for a lovely MOTHER'S DAY DINNER! It was just the four of us and she made a wonderful pork roast (my favorite)  We laughed at dessert!  It was ANGEL FOOD CAKE WITH WHIPPED CREAM & STRAWBERRIES   OR DEVILS FOOD CAKE!   lol
I sure appreciated her doing that for us! I've not been very handy in the kitchen lately with one arm, so I thought that was awfully thoughtful of mom to do that when it should have been me doing it for her!!
We retired to the patio after dinner for SEVERAL rousing games of UNO!!     After playing  for a while, we all laid down for a bit and rested and then Tony and I paid some visits to some single sister's he home teaches!
We then went back to Art and Lynn's to visit with the kids who came over. Blake, Ellie and Alivia had made instruments and they sang a song to me and Lynn. It was adorable!!  To the tune of "Hey Jude"!!
We all retired to the patio to visit and discovered the kids had knocked off a lot of Dad's apricots from his tree!!  Opps! Not a happy Grandpa!
I asked Tony to take pictures for me!
He was happy to oblige!  Tammy and Chris  didn't make it and of course Phillip & Nycole weren't there. I heard from all 5 of my kids throughout the day and that was very special! It was a lovely Mothers Day!  Thank you kids!
