YARD DAY

We got up around 7:30 and went down for some cinnamon toast and watermelon for breakfast. Scotlyn was still asleep so we quietly went outside and started on our yard work. There had been a nice little wind so the grass wasn't wet like it was last week. I got the front and back lawn mowed while Tony did Aunt Joyce's yard.
I had to sit on the bench around the tree a time or two and drink some water. Amazing how thirsty ya get when I mow!

After I finished the lawn, I started on the garden. Pick three zucchini and a couple of tomatoes and a few beans. The big one got a way from me but it's not too bad. I came in and Scotlyn was still asleep so I read my book for a while and then emptied my dishwasher and took care of the beans. I thought I'd cook some for dinner to go along with our leftover chicken and mashed potatoes from yesterday. I went up to my craft room and worked on my Block Party invites for a while.

I took a picture of all the paper purses Scotlyn made over the weekend. We had a fun time making them. I went back to reading my book. Then I got a text from Jill. She wanted to know if Scotlyn was up. She was moving her into Hawkins room (as he is now away at college) and his closet was much bigger.

Tony came in and asked if I'd picked the HUGE zucchini that was in the garden. I said yes, it's on the cupboard. He said he thought there was a bigger one out there and he'd go look. Sure enough!! He came back in with this Boa Constrictor of a zucchini!!  LOL   I didn't even see it!! I told him to toss it in the trash. I don't think they are any good at this point.  Then he went upstairs to work on his checkbook. Scotlyn got up and I fed her breakfast and shortly after, her mom showed up to take her home. I worked on my invites some more and then I then fixed lunch/dinner for Tony and I. We ate while watching RIZOLLI & ISLES and then went upstairs to shower and clean up!

Not the cutest invites but it get the word out there.  lol

I made 20 of them. Still have to finish the stamping (which is a pain) I don't have a stamp that says block party, so I took my small letter stamps and taped them together to spell "Block Party" and started stamping. I've got 5 stamped and 15 to go as well as tying the bow to go on the front. Then I have to get the guts put inside. I'll work on them while we watch some TV this evening.
It was a good day. Still haven't gone to the gym, as Tony's knee is so sore. He goes to the doctor tomorrow afternoon. Maybe we'll get back eventually. Now, I'm off to do laundry.
