GIRLS WEEKEND = AWSOMENESS

Heather came up with this brilliant idea several months ago ... A Mother/Daughter weekend!  Traci & I were on board immediately! We've been scrimping & saving a little here and a little there just for the special occasion! Heather was even giving Plasma to earn money! What a trooper!! As soon as I got off work on Thursday afternoon last week, I headed to Kuna to pick up Traci & the 2 little girls. We decided it would be fun for them too! We got to Layton around 8PM. Just in time to see ROWAN and

Sawyer before the little guys went to bed! Rowan was so excited to see me and he promptly got his funny glasses and posed for "Gramma Irvie"  lol  Sawyer is getting so big. He crawls now and is attempting the stairs ..... hence the bruises on his forehead!  We visited at Heather's house for a bit and then loaded her up and headed to the condo. (Thanks to Art & Lynn for letting us have the last hurrah in it before it's sold)

After unloading all our things, we got on the TRAX and headed to the Gateway Mall to get a bite to eat. Pretty much everything was closed so we went to "APPLE BEES".  Not our 1st choice but how can you go wrong with an Oriental Chicken Salad! YES, that's what I had!  Mmmmmm good!

Friday morning, after a good nights sleep, we got up and the girls exercised! I took photo's. Then we all cleaned up, took a group photo and went down and caught the TRAX . We got to South Temple and then walked up several blocks to get breakfast!

We ate at a Bakery called Gourmandise. Heather's suggestion and a mighty good one! The breakfast quiche was to die for!!!  LOVED IT!!

The rest of the day we spent at CITY CREEK MALL and THE GATEWAY MALL.   SO MUCH FUN!!!  We checked out every store imaginable! Couldn't afford much but it was fun to look!

After eating lunch at the Lion House we walked to TEMPLE SQUARE and got some pictures. We then caught the Trax for the GateWay Mall.

They were having a SIDEWALK ART FESTIVAL that day. It was fun to see all the kids showing off their mad artistic skills on the street!  We shopped and shopped and I had to buy a comfy pair of cushioned flip flops because my feet were getting so sore. My ankles and feet were swelling but I wasn't about to give up ......

We all wore ourselves out! BUT, it was such a fun day!!

That evening after a short rest at the condo and a little freshening up, we got in the car and drove to Thai Siam on State Street. So so delicious!!  We ordered family style and shared. We had the cutest little waitress and she was kind enough to take our picture. She even stood at the window as we left and waved!

We all got in the hot tub on the roof of the condo and relaxed after a long day of shopping! It felt soooo good on my tired old feet!  What a beautiful site with the city in the background! Loved it!

After relaxing for an hour, we took the little girls down to the pool so they could get in some real swimming before bed! We had planned really sleeping good after the long day but someone was throwing a party and it was LOUD! Didn't get as much rest as we had hoped for!

This picture was taken on the roof of the condo just before we headed to dinner at Thai Siam.

And this scary picture was taken after the hot tub experience!  We had purchased several packets of masks at H&M. Why am I the only one who looks like a creepy ZOMBIE!!  lol I thought I looked so ridiculous, so I worked it! Hense , some of the pictures Heather took! I have to admit, we all laughed so hard! It was good for us!!

But look at how lovely we look  the morning after !!!  Now if I could find a good mask that melts the pounds off!  lol

After getting ready we headed SOUTH to the outlet stores in Lehi and then back to IKEA . Traci had never been to one so it was a fun experience for her. We had lunch there too, which I had never done! Loved their meatballs!  I found some cool cheap frames for my "WATERMELON WALL" ..... now to get Tony to fix the shelves! It will be so cool!

We had to be at our Mani/Pedi appointment at 4PM so we rushed.  They were soooooo busy when we got there because of the special they were having. But after they got us all seated in the chairs, they got to it and it went fast!

Wish I could afford to do this on a regular basis! I felt so pampered! It was G~R~E~A~T !!!!  After the Salon experience, we went to a WalMart and Traci bought some goodies and a movie. I bought a hair dye and we went back to the condo for some more primping. The girls did my hair and we played games and had snacks. We couldn't get the movie to play so we told stories to the little girls and  laughed and enjoyed our last night in the condo.

Sunday morning we got up and did laundry and cleaned the condo. We drove back to Layton to drop off Heather and to see Jon and the little boys.

It was such a great time for me and the girls! We hadn't done anything like this in a long time. 9 years to be exact so we were well overdue! We had such a great time we decided to make it a yearly tradition.  We will have to find a new place to party cuz the condo is selling but we sure appreciated getting to use it this past weekend. It was so convenient to where we wanted to be.

And this says it all .... Isabel asleep on the trip home. We totally packed our days and nights with so much fun that we all were worn out come Sunday! All I know is I sure slept good last night !  Me & my girls needed this and I am grateful to Tony for letting me go and to Art & Lynn for letting us use the condo. Also a shout out to Jon and Jason for watching the boys. It was wonderful!!
