MOM's A LITTLE FIESTY TODAY~

Well, it's been an interesting day with Mom ! I was hoping she would be excited to have her foot bath today and to get her hair cut. I made her scrambled egg with cheese and a slice of toast & jam for breakfast. She ate good and when she was done I told her we'd have a spa day.  I got her in her chair and then I got out the foot bath. I had in on the floor in front of her chair and I got it all filled with water and the Epsom salt. I then tried to take off her slipper. She said "I don't want you to do that!"  I told her I wanted to. She said "NO, you've done too much."  I told her I wanted to do it. I tried again to take off her slipper and she pulled her foot away and stamped it down on  the floor and said "NO!~ I DON'T WANT  A FOOT BATH! I'LL JUST PUT MELATONIN CREAM ON THEM!~
I decided I'd drop it for now, so Tony took it, and dumped the water into the tub and I then told her I'd cut her hair. She said "all I want is the back cut. I just want it off my neck. "  I said no problem and I got her up to a chair in the kitchen.  I shaved her neck and cut off the long hair in the back. Then I started to blend the hair with scissors and she says "I CAN TELL YOUR CUTTING MORE HAIR THAN I ASKED!!~ lol

She's on a real kick today. I told her I was just blending  so I didn't do much and quit!  lol  I'll  try in another couple of days to at least do her feet again. FINGERS CROSSED!~  She went to her chair and went back to her knitting. Tony left to do a little shopping.

I started working on my little purses again.  Then I got a call from Rick and Wendy. They addressed my concerns with Mom and said they face a lot of those issues everyday. Man, my respect for them is 10 fold!!  We all love Mom so much but tending to her needs 24/7 is a lot!!  I think we will have to think about some things when they get back. Rick said Wendy has a sort of PTSD about taking care of her and since she's been away has been so relaxed and feeling much better. I get it!  It's hard work! Wondering if she will fall, cleaning up after she has an accident, trying to help her with things and her losing her temper. Not all the time but sometimes. It's rough!

Around 1 o'clock, I fixed her a sandwich and a glass of milk. I told her I had her lunch. She said she wanted to finish her scarf , so I left her to do so. After 15 minutes or so she finally was getting up from her chair and heading to the table.  She ate and then she wanted to go to her room to nap. She handed me her knitting and asked me to put in in her room. I got her to the restroom and then while she was in there, I quickly took some pictures of her work. I can sure see her age showing through in her work.

She has always been so meticulous in her work, but with her poor eyesight and her age, I can definitely see things deteriorating. Bless her heart!! I am just happy that she is still trying!
It's an overcast day today. Supposed to rain but it hasn't so far.
Made Mom leftover's for dinner (of course we ate it too) She's pretty happy with whatever I put in front of her. That's a plus!  After dinner, we watched TV and she tries but honestly, I don't know how much she sees. I made her a root beer float and she keeps commenting on how good that was! I'll take it. After today, I'm just glad she's still talking to me! lol
Oh,...it's raining out now! It will soon be time for bed, There is a wood stove down here just outside mom's room and there is some kind of critter in the pipe. We keep hearing it scratching . I'll tell Will when he gets home. Well, back to crocheting.

Will got home and came down this evening with Mom's mail. We told him about the scratching in the stove down here in the basement. Will opened the door and saw this little bird in the corner. He was so tired from trying to escape today. Will put on gloves and reached in and picked him up. He is covered in ash bur so cute. He released him outside and he seems to be fine....tired, but fine.
A good way to end the day!

I'd say it's almost like having a child again, lol. That bird is so cute. I'm glad it's okay.
