FENCE / TREE DISASTER !~

Got home from work last Thursday night. We had just finished dinner and the doorbell rings. It's Paul, the neighbor behind us on the left. He asked if we'd seen the fence...."uhh, ...no."
So Tony and I walked out back with him to find this ....... About 45 feet of fence had blown down with the windstorm we'd had.  I guess with the hard winter and all that snow, the fence posts had simply rotted out and came down with the wind! Paul said he would help us as much as he could but he is a father of 3 and his wife works when he's home. Tony got the measurements and we went to purchace materials. The owner of the home  (Paul rents) said if we did the work he would split the cost with us. We were thankful for that!

The following day we got home from work and a big branch from the willow had blown down as well! Man, we've got our work cut out for us for a while!!

Conner Preece came over to help us on Friday night to get "Service Hours" and boy did we ever appreciate his help. He stuck around and helped us take the boards off the posts and we also got the tree mess all cleaned up! BLESS HIS HEART!  Great kid!

Saturday morning (instead of watching General Conference...we recorded it to watch later) we got up early and were in the yard by 8AM. We knew we had a lot of work to do and we wanted to get started. AND THEN Bruce and Jackie Williams (Our neighbors on the right) came over and literally helped us ALL DAY!!
MAY I JUST SAY.....GREAT PEOPLE!~

Jackie is a little spitfire! Don't let her size fool ya! She and I hauled all the old boards to the neighbor's yard (he plans to make an Entertainment Center with them) and then we hauled all the new boards from the truck to the backyard so the men could work their magic. We also pulled staples and nails out of all the old boards! It was quite a job!

Tony cut and measured and

And Jackie and I held boards while Bruce screwed them on!
Paul helped for  a while in the morning until his wife Sarah went to work and then he had to quit. I went and got pizza for everyone for lunch and I made cookies as well.  We continued to work till about 5:30 that evening. We got the entire part that blew down fixed.  We all cleaned up and Tony and I took Bruce and Jackie out to dinner to show them our appreciation!! We'd still be at it had it not been for them!!
 Can't thank them enough!
Tony decided to get new boards for the rest of the fence so it didn't look too stupid. He and I were able to finish up the rest in 2 more evenings .
LAST BOARD being nailed on!  YAY!!~
Now we can watch the Saturday Session of General Conference since we recorded it and we can go see Beauty and the Beast on Friday night after work! Been dying to see it but we've had too much going on to do it.
