Tony and I went to church and after our 1st two meetings, we were called to come immediately to his parent's home. Art was having a stroke so we rushed over. We thought we were going to be taking him to the hospital but the Hospice nurse had been called and she said to just put Lorazepam under his tongue and that would calm him down and she would leave immediately. We did and it calmed him and we were able to get him dressed and eating a muffin by the time she arrived. I love this picture of Tony and his dad holding hands! |

She was great to explain to us that Art is having mini strokes, known as ATI's. He was so sweet and although he cannot speak, his actions say volumes! |
|
He show's his love and appreciation by kissing her hand! Such a great man! |

We had plans to meet at a park after church for a Father's Day Picnic. However, it had rained all day and so we opted to have our party in the Cultural Hall of the church. We had a great turnout.36 of us and it would have been 38 if Art and Lynn had been able to make it. Debbie came for a bit and brought food home to Mom and Dad Norton! |
|
We grilled brats, hot dogs and jalapeno sausages! Everyone brought something to share so we had, salads, chips, mac and cheese, watermelon, cake and cookies! Mmmmm, it was a meal fit for a king! Afterall, our Father's are KINGS! |
The kids brought games and so after dinner, we played till 8:30. Scott and Hawkins and Scotlyn brought the missionaries from their Ward. They had to be at an appointment at 6PM so were the 1st to leave. Scott also took off because he had to take the 2 kids to Mary's. Jill was out of town on a work assignment and Scott had to fly out Monday morning for Vegas for works as well.

We drove over to Art and Lynn's after the party and Stillman and Michelle went as well to see Grandpa because they were leaving on Monday. Art was having another stroke as we got there. Tony administered the Lorazepam again and after he was calm again, Tony and Stillman helped him to the restroom and then back to bed. We had a hospital bed delivered so he doesn't have to try and get upstairs anymore. So helpful! Love this picture of Stillman kissing his grandpa! |
|
Lynn had such a tough day! She didn't think she would be react the way she did but it is only natural! Art loves her so much and she him, He kept holding her hand and kissing it.
Not sure how much time he has left but we will enjoy him as long as we can!
Thank Heaven for ETERNAL FAMILIES!~ |
