Sunday was a very special day. We went to church and Aiden Law was reporting on his Mission. His mother spoke 1st and she did such a good job. She and her husband were allowed to go to Oakland to pick up their Elder when he was finished with his mission. He had planned for his parents to meet some of the wonderful people he had met, while serving in California. They said it was a very spiritual experience. Then Aiden spoke. He is a BIG BOY. Kinda reminds me of Blake with hair! He has a thick head of blonde hair and is a very handsome young man. He did a great job reporting on his mission. He reminded me of so many of the young boys, who go out and return as men! I was very impressed with his testimony and his growth in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then our Sunday School lesson on Isaiah was fabulous! Brother Porter is such a fun teacher and brings out such wonderful concepts of the scriptures. We talked about fasting and the way the Lord wants us to fast. (I and I'm sure a lot of others) decided we need to repent of the way we fast and do it the Lords way! Sooo good!
After church, we dropped off the ladies and I made my rice dish and then we picked up Joyce and headed over to Lynn's for dinner. It was a lovely meal. Lynn made baked salmon. These elderly women are getting so funny. Lynn wanted to warm up melted butter to pour over the salmon and she put the butter in a plastic dish and put it in the oven beside the salmon. When we got to her house, she opened the oven and gasped when she saw the dish melted all over. Tony asked her why she put plastic in the oven and she said she didn't realize it would melt. lol Their cooking is definitely getting interesting.
Joyce made tapioca and it was really pretty. She put whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top of each dish. We had croissants' and the rich dish and it was a very good meal. Joyce loved the rice and wanted the recipe so I gave her the empty box of Rice a Roni when we got back to our house (lol) so she would know what to buy when she went to Winco. It was funny. We watched UNSHAKEN when we finished dinner and at 5PM we turned on the Temple Fireside which we could have gone to but we listened to it over Tony's phone so the ladies could hear it as well. It was really good. Our Temple President and his wife both spoke and then Brother Weed, who is our shift coordinator, sang
"Be Still My Soul"
....it was beautiful! I had no idea he sang so well. We then listened to a Brother from Africa who is over Temples. I won't even attempt to write his name because I can't even pronounce it. He was really good as well. I love to listen to the Brethren from other countries and to know that the Saints are all over the world. It was a fantastic meeting. We all four enjoyed it so much. We then came home, dropped off Joyce and then came in and relaxed.
SUCH A WONDERFUL SABBATH!~
