MORE OF ZION'S CANYON !

I had a hard time getting my pictures to post from our trip to Zion's so today I am posting a few more. We noticed that there were a lot of these cacoon's in some of the trees in the park.  We asked a lady at the park museum and she said they are Tent Catapillars. She said they make the cacoons in the Poplar trees. She also said that they were so prolific last year that they had to spray some kind of enzyme that made it hard for them to digest their food and they would die.   It looked like they needed to do it again! There were a lot of these cacoons in all the poplars.

This picture was taken at the end of the trail (well unless you were willing to walk in the water for a ways) and several people do! If we had continued on we would have come to the "NARROWS" which is where the rock comes together in a tight passage.

There were ton's of these little critters along the trail and they were not scared of us at all.  They would walk right up to us, however you are asked not to feed them and they had a sign posted of someone's hand with 13 stitches in it because of one of these cute little fellows!
They were cute but beware!!  They can cause major damage!!
Just another picture on the way back out. It was the perfect day to go because the weather was comfortable. We brought jackets but ended up tying them to our waist's. Today, it is raining and very cool so we are very glad we went to the park yesterday.

I took the picture below because on the shuttle drive out, the driver told us that it takes rock climber's 2 and 1/2 days to go up the face of the cliff. They sleep on the face of the rock in some kind of cot (crazy is all I can say) and it only takes 2 1/2 hours to walk down on a trail.
