SUNDAY IN ST. GEORGE!~

Sunday morning we got up and got ready to go to church. We went to the closest building we found ( and it's Utah so there was one very near to us ... lol) I took a picture of our resort so you can see where we are staying. The Ward we went to ended up being a branch. It was all older people! They didn't have an Elder's Quorum, a Primary or a Young Men and Young Women's. Just High Priest and Relief Society. It was interesting! We felt like the youngest ones there!  lol The speakers were a couple going on a mission. He was a Dr. and was from the Netherlands. His wife was from the Philipines. They met in Canada and married. They were not members of the church and had decided to postpone a family but the missionaries came to their home and they were converted.  6 children later ......  They were awesome and had a wonderful story! Their children (all married) were all there for their farewell. 4 girls and 2 boys. One boy played the piano while the other boy and his 4 sisters sang "Guide Me To Thee". It was beautiful and a very inspirational meeting!

After church, we went to see the Temple grounds. We found out some interesting things about the temple which I didn't know. For instance, there is not an Angel Moroni on this temple as well as Logan and Manti. The 1st temple to have the Angel Moroni was the  Salt Lake Temple.

We walked around the grounds and went to the Visitor Center. We met a sweet Sister who was serving at the Saint George Temple until her visa comes and then she will go to Cordoba Argentina. (Stillman served there) She told us that we could visit some other Church sites today as well because Missionaries serve there. We thought it would be a wonderful way to spend the Sabbath so we went back to the condo and changed our clothes and away we went.

The 1st place we went to was Jacob Hamblin's home. I used a story about him recently in a lesson for the Young Women. He had sent his son to the Indians to  trade horses for blankets. His son took way too many blankets and when he returned home, Jacob sent him back to return some blankets. The Indian said he knew he would be back because he knew his father was an honest man!  He was a very good missionary to the Indians. The home below is the Winter home for President Brigham Young. He spent his winters here later in his ministry because he had rheumatism really bad and the warmer weather helped. The tours of these places were extensive so we ran out of time and will go to some other historical places later this week. It's been a wonderful vacation thus far! So much church history here! We are enjoying ourselves so much!
