SUNDAY /MONDAY

Had a lovely Sabbath Day. It was testimony meeting (being July 2nd) and Tony had to teach the Gospel Doctrine class. He did such a great job. Especially for being asked to do it the day before. He's a lot braver than I am.

I love this picture depicting the Savior passing the sacrament. It helps remind me of the covenants I made to take on His name and follow Him. A good reminder every Sunday as we partake of the sacrament. After church, we had dinner at my place. Lynn gave me chicken legs to cook so I did them in the oven before church and then just kept them on warm. I also had funeral potatoes in the freezer so I thawed them and cooked them with the chicken. I cooked fresh zucchini when we got home and Joyce brought rolls. Lynn brought a relish tray and she also cooked Fochasia bread. We told her that Joyce said she could make rolls but she does her own thing. lol After dinner, we had to go to the Slover's to help them get onto the "Protecting Children and Youth" app in their church accounts. It is required for us to take, to work in the temple (actually all callings at church) We were able to get Brother Slover on and he completed it but we had trouble with Sister Slover's account.  We needed to be home by 7, so we could tune into a Zoom with Ellie's mission. SO, we had to leave. We made an appointment for them to come to our house on Monday. Ellie's mission leaders started a weekly zoom for families of the missionaries. It's called "Knit together Sunday". Ellie comes home at the end of this month so she bore her testimony and we didn't want to miss it. She did GREAT!!~   After the 30 minute Zoom, we watched a little TV and then went to bed. The Fireworks were going off again. Grrrrr lol

MONDAY

We decided to do our yard work today instead of going to the gym. Tony started by cleaning up the firework remains on our sidewalk and driveway. I even picked some big ones off the grass and the street. I put them in his pile to sweep up.

It doesn't look like much compared to the cul-de-sac the neighbors live in, but still....we like things clean!

It was enough!
The roof still has a lot of remnants on it, and they were blowing off into the yard all day! I got to mowing our yard while Tony went to his Mom's. I asked him to do hers 1st so he'd be close when the Slover's came over.

After finishing the backyard, I weeded my garden and then picked my beans. I got quite a few. Larry and Zella called and then stopped by. I gave them a zucchini.  They were here about an hour and after they left, I went out to finish my weeding.

The yard is looking pretty good except for a few dry spots. Tony checked the sprinkler filter and things will be working better now.  I had been going out and watering the garden by hand because it has been looking dry! Hope it's better now.

About 1:45, the Slover's came over and Tony tried again to get her set up. He tried all kinds of different things but to no avail. She is going to have to get in touch with church headquarters and maybe even start a new email address.  He can only do so much. Afterall, we are not computer genius's. After they left, we warmed up our pulled pork and had a sandwich.

And then had a delicious root beer float for dessert.
We then came upstairs, showered and Tony went to see Brother Glaettli to have his shoulder put into place. I think he put it out moving last week. We were going to go kayaking tomorrow out at Lake Lowell, but not now. His shoulder hurts to much. I told him, "That's what happens when you turn 71, it's all down hill from here on out!"
lol  Anyway, we decided to go see a movie instead!

We are taking Lynn and Joyce with us.
As, of now, I have to work on my lesson for Sunday!
