Mondays are our "Yard Day" but we are starting to get ready for our Annual Block Party, which will be this Saturday afternoon. It's going to be a super busy day so we need to work at it all week. We'll work in the temple in the morning and the come home to get the Kalua Pork and Sweet Potato Souffle cooked, as well as set up the canopy's and get all the chairs and tables set up in the yard. SO, I mowed our lawn and picked weeds while Tony went to his mother's house 1st. Aunt Joyce came over this morning and apologized because she was supposed to turn off her water last night and she evidently turned it to a wrong position. It went on this morning. Tony said he would do his mom's 1st to give it time to dry.
After mowing our yard, I went through the garden and picked a couple of zucchini's that got away from me (AGAIN) as well as a smaller one that is a good size. (good, as in just right for cooking with) I also picked 2 more cukes and three tomatoes. I am bringing a dinner into the Anderson's this afternoon so I will also give them the small zucchini and some cukes & tomatoes. I think I'll try and make some jam with the big zucchini but it won't happen this week.
I watered the Begonia's and picked off the dry leaves.
They have been extremely disappointing this year. I thought they would do excellent in these pots in the shade of the house but they sure didn't do as well as I'd hoped.
But I can always count on the Dianthuses that Mara gave me several years ago for Mother's Day. When the blooms dry up, I cut the plant back a a few weeks later, they are back in full bloom again!
I LOVE THEM!~ Thank you Mara!!~
I went over the lawn twice (in different directions) and it looks pretty good! We'll work on cleaning the patio and the table & chairs (under the Gazebo) on Friday.
When Tony finished with Joyce's lawn, he came home and did the edging around our yard. .
He'll be coming in to shower and get ready to go to his physical therapy appointment. I am doing laundry and cleaning house as well as getting a meal ready for the Anderson's. I also made some calls and set up appointments for Peggy and me to go visit on Wednesday and I sent Bethany the talk that she is going to give the lesson on in Relief Society on the 24th. I got a birthday card and purse gift ready to give to Donna Jenkin's on Friday. Her birthday is actually on Saturday, but I will be too busy that day to give it to her. Hense, a day early! Don't think she'll mind! lol
CELEBRATION # 2
Tony and I went to TUCANO'S for my 2nd birthday dinner. We went today because they were doing a deal on Monday's. SO, we got our dinner and when we went to pay, they gave me my birthday dinner free but wouldn't give Tony the Monday special because they said they don't do it with the Birthday special anymore. CONSEQUENTLY, the bill was $36 bucks and $ 45 after tip!! When we got out to the car, Tony said he's decided he doesn't want to go to Tucano's anymore. Honestly, I'm so good with that!! I have never thought they were all that good. The only thing I really like is the Lobster bisque and the BBQed Pineapple! I took the app off my phone as soon as we were in the car. YAY!
I am NOT Disappointed at all!
