We got up at 6am and got ready to go to Saratoga. It's clear down the valley from Bountiful and it was rush hour so we had to leave early.
I got a beautiful picture of the Saratoga Temple as we were driving up. This is actually the back of the temple. It is beautiful and is very similar to the Pocatello temple in it's layout.
When we finished our session, we met out front and there was a wedding party taking pictures.
The flowers and plants are gorgeous.
The stake Center is directly in front of it, as it is at a lot of the temples. It's a beautiful location.
There is always someone who is willing to take our pictures.
LOVE THIS MAN OF MINE!~
We were so very happy to have been able to attend another temple in Utah. We will still have plenty to attend once all the new ones are completed. We'll get there eventually!
Just some different shots of the grounds.
The fountain is awesome!
The flowers are ALWAYS GORGEOUS
on the Temple grounds!
After leaving the Temple, we drove up the hill to
EAGLE MOUNTAIN! Heather was gone to Costco but Jon was working from home. He apologized because the house smelled like burning food. lol He said Heather was baking a cake and it ran over the sides of the two pans. He opened the doors and let things air out a bit. Tony and I brought in Mara's birthday gift ......and.......
Heather had asked if someday I would give her the plastic canvas house I made a long time ago. She likes sentimental things and so I gave it to her.
I set it up on her fireplace. She got home from the store and I helped her put her groceries away before we went to the school and picked up Sawyer and Mara.
The kids were as excited as Heather. What was incredible was, we took out the newspaper that I had stuffed inside the house when I made it (for support) and we found out it was November 19th, 1989. Heather would have been Mara's age! Pretty fun & incredible!
After a bit, Heather and I went to pick up Rowan at High School in Eagle Mountain. Before we left, Heather had showed me the helmets Rowan was making! Cardboard and black & grey foam.
I made him model them for me when we got him home!!
They were truly incredible!! He is so talented!
This one is two toned and really awesome!!
Really something else!! I was
SO IMPRESSED!! SO WAS TONY!
This one is his MANDELORIAN helmet. It's not done. Just the cardboard but he'll cover it in a foam soon. Can't wait to see it !!
Then he modeled his HALLOWEEN COSTUME for us. It is called "PROJECTOR MAN".
It's still not finished. He wants to put lights in the projector and he still has some painting to do on the projector. The kids wanted us to watch a movie with them so we watched the new
HOCUS POCUS! We hadn't sene it and we enjoyed it!
Here we are watching the movie.
I was so into the movie that I didn't realize what Heather was up to. When the movie was over, she called everyone to the kitchen to eat!
How on earth she got all this done without me knowing was pretty impressive!! I was seriously into the movie I guess! lol
She made pizza, porkchops, asparagus, a salad and a wonderful bread with a delicious topping.
It was beautiful AND delicious!!
Then she placed a chocolate, whipped cream and fresh strawberry cake with a chocolate ganache icing on the table!
This is the cake that poured over in her pans and burned.
BUT, she turned it into a "MASTERPIECE!"
DINNER &
CAKE!~
I was so spoiled!!
It was a wonderful 72nd birthday party!!
I even got to blow out candles!! SO FUN!~
She took a birds eye view of us!! YUM!~
Love my UTAH kids so much! Can't wait to go spend THANKSGIVING with them ! It was a fun day for sure!!
We stayed till 8:30 or so and then headed back to Bountiful.
