We got up at 4:30 this morning and I looked at my phone. There was a text from Holly saying that my mom had fallen and cut her head. Alexandra tried to get a hold of me at 2AM, as well as my two brothers and finally was able to get ahold of Holly. She was the only one who didn't have her phone on DO NOT DISTURB! Anyway, in talking to Alexandra, she said Mom refused to go to the hospital so the fire department came. They said it looked like she needed stitches. Holly (bless her heart) left her place at 5am and headed to Portland to take Mom to Quick Care for stitches. We left for the temple and I worried about her the whole time. After our shift, we were scheduled to do initiatory so I didn't have time to run downstairs to look at my phone. As soon as we finished and headed out to the car, I checked.
I sat in the car and read the messages to Tony before we took off. Still no word from Holly but I did find out from Donna that Bishop Stahl had called Jack this morning and they had the Priesthood boys scheduled to bring the Sacrament to Mom. YAY! That was good news! We got home and I fixed us a quick lunch. We were getting ready to go to a funeral and needed to eat something before going. I finally sent a text asking if anyone had heard from Holly yet. Holly sent a text immediately and said she had just got back from taking Mom to Quick Care, and they said it didn't need stitches!
Thank heavens.
Holly said the cut was about an inch long and it had stopped bleeding so they said she was fine. I'm sure Mom was happy about that because she didn't want to mess up her new haircut! lol
Holly said the trip out and about, wore Mom out and she was ready to nap as soon as Holly got her back to the home. Rick said he had a long conversation with Alexandra later this morning, and now that they have all the medical paperwork done and can get in home doctors set up, they won't have this problem again. Holly won't have to drive for 2 and 1/2 hours to take her to a Quick Care. Poor girl! I told her she has earned her halo and wings!! Rick told me that Mom has been a little nasty with the gals at the home. Evidently, she has tipped her cart over numerous times and so they started taking all her things off at night before she goes to bed and putting it all in a bowl till morning. Mom shakes her head and says "NO NO NO"!! They try and explain to her why but she's not having it!! She can sure be a pill sometimes!! I guess when your 101 and 1/2 ya get a little cranky! lol Rick said he knew I could relate because she got a little nasty with me when we stayed with her. lol Well, we are off to a funeral......
OH MY GOODNESS, was this ever sad!! It was held at ZYER'S Funeral home and Cameron had sooooo many friends and family there that the place was packed and people were standing!! It was a beautiful service. His older brother ( Brandon) was dressed in his full military uniform (I think it was army) and he played the guitar while his older sister, (Christina) sang!! It was absolutely beautiful! What a talented family! I guess Cameron was very musical as well and sang and wrote music and played guitar and drums. He was a talented football player, as well as a runner. It was just so sad that his life was cut short. I felt so bad for his mother who was sobbing over his body in the casket for a good 15 minutes. Brandon tried to comfort her and so did Mike (her husband) It was just so sad.
At one point, several of his friends stood and took a few minutes to express their love for their friend and gave some very touching memories. It was beautiful! Everyone was invited to go to the Smith building for a dinner. It was really nice. Tambi and her daughter Isabella came in and sat with us. We had a good visit. I asked Tambi if she knew how he'd died. She said she didn't know but it was self inflicted. I can't even imagine what a talented young man, such as he, felt like he had nothing to live for. Ya just never know what is going on in people's lives. BE KIND!!

I'm glad your mom is okay and that she didn't need stitches!
Sad to see this young man took his own life :( It seems more difficult to handle when it happens this way.
Yeah for sure. I guess he had terrible headaches from foot ball and just couldn't take it any more. SAD!!
