Didn't sleep very well last night. Don't know why I was so uptight BUT, I couldn't sleep. I came downstairs at midnight and read my Michael Vey book till 1:30 or 2. I finally felt like i could doze off so I put my book away, turned out the lights and finally got to sleep. I got up at 8am and went upstairs. Tony was just getting up as well. We got ready to go to the gym , ate a small breakfast and headed out. It was so cold out this morning and frosty!!
We walked. Me two, and Tony four. I went down while he was finishing walking and did 33 minutes on the elliptical. Then we both did our weights. While I was on the elliptical, Jenni sent me a link about Mount Rushmore.
She and I talked at the Silver Sweetheart luncheon on January 30th. She asked if we'd ever been to Mount Rushmore. I told her we hadn't but I've always wanted to go. She said, "It's only 9 hours away. We should plan a trip together"
SO, today she sent me the link about the place and told me to read it. I did. It was all about the best times to go and what to expect each month of the year. I told her that the best time for Tony and I to go would be June 3rd thru the 17th because the temple would be closed at that time. She text me back and said June is a very busy time for their business. She suggested April and leave on a Sunday or Monday and return Friday. I told her that would probably work so we are looking into it. I hope it works out!
We got home and changed and left the house to go to the
Electricians Luncheon.
It was held at the CITY BUFFET.
Not my favorite place to go but it's OK once in a while! lol Next month is at the Golden Coral which in my opinion is worse yet! lol But they have to find places that will accommodate a big group, so there that! We had a nice visit with the group that was at our table. When it was over, we went to WINCO and got a few things I need for this weekends meals while Curtis & Deedra are here. Then we went to COSTCO to get a pizza for this weekend and the Italian sausage for the ZUPPA TUSCANO soup I'm making for Sunday. We hurried home and dropped off our groceries and then went to our eye appointment. Evidently, I am going to have to have cataract surgery in a year or less. Tony's eyes are better than mine (which is no surprise to me) lol! We looked at some glasses and without insurance and they were going to be $900 plus!! With insurance, they would be around $500!! SERIOUSLY?? We will be going to COSTCO to get them! lol It will be a lot less than that!
We are home now and watching 24 and resting. Although I did make a couple of batches of Rice Krispie treats!
A good day though.
