Got up this morning and got ready to go to the Stake house for the Silver Sister's luncheon. I picked up Joyce & Lynn and we headed over around 10:30. The theme this month was
"ANGELS AMONG US" and it was such a special day!
They had it decorated nice and each table had a nativity on it.
The turn out was fabulous!!
FULL HOUSE!!
Sister Lee and Sister Pense both spoke for a few minutes about a time when they were ministered to by Angels. It was so beautiful and the Spirit was strong. Iva Lee talked about a time when her grandson drowned in a public pool and two men (who normally would not be at the pool) were there and saved her grandson's life. It was such a spiritual moment. Then Sister Pense spoke about her time working in the Oakland Temple (a 2 hour drive to and from) for seven years. Her husband had Parkinson's and she received so much help from Angels in her ward. It was very touching! President Hagburg spoke last and told us to write our stories down. Just like the men in the Book of Mormon who wrote their stories. They will bless our children's lives as the Book of Mormon stories are blessing our lives today! The two sister's sang a duet and then we ate.
Everyone was supposed to bring horderves and there was a
TON OF FOOD!!
It was a good luncheon!!
I got a picture of the birds in the trees on the way home. The horfrost was heavy but beautiful!! I got the ladies home and told them we were going to the gym to walk. They said they wanted to go so we changed our clothes and went to pick them up
We just walked today so they ladies like to go when we do just that! They ride a stationary cycle. Tony walks 4 miles..
On the way home, Lynn and Joyce wanted to go to COSTCO. Lynn wanted pants and Joyce needed some medicine. I wanted to go home, so Tony dropped me off at our corner while he took them .
I got the ornaments bagged for the Ornament Exchange party this Thursday night.
Should be fun. It always is!!
Then I got out my diamond puzzle and I separated and labeled all the diamonds into the compartments in one of my plastic cases. I was going to start on it but I needed to open the picture itself and lay it flat and weigh it down for a while so it will lay flat. Guess Ill crochet till then. lol Tony got home and I warmed him up some dinner. We watched an episode of CSI Miami and then I talked him into going out to Indian Plaza to the GIVING MACHINES!
It was still so foggy but the plaza is all lit up for Christmas.
So beautiful!!
We settled on a Beehive for someone in a foreign country.
A gift that keeps on giving!!
There were so many things to choose from and some were local but I wanted to help someone in a third world place.
I hope a lot of people will take advantage of this wonderful way to give.Especially this time of year!
It was 28 degrees outside so we didn't stay long.
It's always fun to go out to INDIAN CREEK this time of year. It's always lit up and gorgeous! The best way to put a person into the Christmas Spirit! It was a very full day, but a good day!
