AMERICA, LAND THAT I LOVE

Today was our Silver Sisters Luncheon. 31st Ward was in charge. Since we don't have the luncheon in July, they decided to do it this month. It was a nice day. A little windy but in the 50ties. They are putting in a round about on Northside so we had to do a little extra driving to get to the Stake House/

But it was worth it. The entire sidewalk outside was decorated with small flags. The entry way in the gym was decorated as well.

Cute things. I remember making the flag pillow years ago.
Still have mine.

I love the wooden flag made with slats. (on the left) I may have to try and make one sometime this year. When we sat down at our table, there was a questionnaire about all the presidents. I used Google and got all the answers that we didn't know. It was fun.

The Musettes singing group came and sang three patriotic numbers. They were really good.  Brother Hanks was our guest speaker. He's in his eighties and was a veteran from the Korean war.
He was interesting. They served Hawaiian Hay Stacks for the luncheon and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Mmmmm! After it was over, I took Joyce to Walgreens to pick up a prescription. Then we picked up Tony and we all went to the gym.

Tony walked four miles and I walked teo and then rode the elliptical for 5 miles. Lynn and Joyce rode the incumbent bikes.

While I was walking, I got a phone call from Robin. She said she needed me to take her to Walgreens to pick up her medications. I told her I was at the gym but I could come over when we finished. When we were done, we drove by Lynn's accountant so she could drop off her tax paperwork. Then we dropped Lynn at her home and then Joyce. I went in and changed my shoes, got my keys and then headed to Robins. I took her to Walgreens and then had to take her to Fred Meyer for cat food and she wanted a sandwich at the deli.  Home now and working on a couple of entry's into Ward History. Shelly, who is our Ward Historian asked me to.
