We got home from the gym on Friday morning and noticed the Dahlia is finally opening up a little.
It has been taking forever for it to bloom.
I see one of my Begonia's is starting to blossom as well. I can't wait for all of them to open. I sure love Begonia's.
We went to the gym early because our temple appointment wasn't till noon so we left around 11am. We did an endowment each and then we did two hours of sealings. We got 93 sealings done. It was great!
It was a lovely day. Not super hot because there was a slight breeze. I went out and took some pictures while waiting for the other three. The lavender is blooming all over the grounds. It's beautiful. Then I see them coming so I took a quick photo. We went to Chick Fil A for dinner because it was about 4:30 when we got there. We had a salad and a peach milkshake. After dropping the ladies off, we went home and settled down. We knew we had to go to bed early because we served at the temple on Saturday morning. Lubov had sent me a text saying she wasn't going to be able to go with us on Saturday. We got up at 4:30 and the doorbell rang at 5am. I thought she had changed her mind and had decided to go but when Tony answered the door, it was Yeti!! We had plans to go to do baptisms at 5pm and he got his messages mixed up. Maybe he was just super excited. lol He went home and we took off around 5:20. We served our shift and came home and went to Lynn's to visit with Colby, Cindy and Lehi who came to town Friday night after we'd gone to bed.
Colby brought two little Golden Retrievers with him. One was for Stillman and the other was for one of Stillman's associates. Stillman was good enough to drive down Friday night to pick up the puppies and take them back to Lewiston. Colby gave me this picture of Lehi with one of the puppies. Pretty cute dogs. We didn't get to see them or Stillman but they are coming for the 4th of July so we'll see them all then. They are coming for Melissa's birthday. After visiting with them for a while, Tony and I left to go to the Celebration of Life for Serena Bennett. I walk with her Gramma who I met at the gym and we have become very close. She wanted me and Tony to go to the service and we both felt it was a good thing to do to support Pat.
It was a sad affair because Serena was so young. She had just turned 21 and graduated from NNU. She wanted to be a Marine Biologist and had gone on a trip to Ecuador with some other NNU students. She drowned in a diving accident. Her parents were flown down and she was cremated and brought home. Pat, met us in the lobby and introduced us to her family and friends. There were beautiful things that had been made for people to take so they could remember Serena. The hearts on the cards are flower seeds. The program was beautiful and very touching. She loved animals and worked at the rescue. She will be missed. We were supposed to stay for a meal after the service but it ended around 4:30 and We had to go to pick up Yeti and to meet the missionaries at the temple. So, we had to leave.
We picked up Yeti and we got to the temple early enough to go out back and get some pictures. This is a beautiful location but it was too shady for a good picture.
I had Tony and Yeti move to the left and got a good picture of them in the sun. We then went into the temple. We took Yeti in to the main lobby so he could see the front of the temple and the beautiful picture behind the recommend desk. Then we went to the Baptismal recommend desk and then down to the font area. We got our baptismal clothing and then I went to the sisters side and they went to the men's side. We waited in the chapel and watched the youth doing baptisms through the big glass window, while we waited for the Elders. They came and dressed and then the 5 of us went into the benches in the font area. Finally it was our turn. Tony baptized me for 5 of my relatives. Then Elder Spackman baptized Elder Edrington. Elder Spackman is smaller so Elder Edrington baptized Yeti. We got 5 sisters and 20 men done. We changed out of our wet clothes and then we had all the names confirmed. Tony confirmed me and then Elder spackman confirmed Yeti for all 20 men. Yeti was so funny. He said he felt like he was getting his Holy Ghost pension built up! It was so awesome. President Hobbs was there to meet Yeti and it was a wonderful evening.
I got a picture of the Elder's and Yeti after we finished and were waiting for Tony to pick up the names from the office. From the left:
Elder Spackman, Yeti and Elder Edrington. We took Yeti home and the Elder's left to have a discussion with Liz. We went home and I baked a cake for Tony's birthday, which was Saturday. We showered while the cake baked and then went back to Lynn's to visit with the kids again. We played cards till 10 and then came home to bed.
Sunday, we got up and went to church. We had a wonderful Sacrament meeting. AND our 5th Sunday meeting was super. It was on Family History and Temple work. Brother Millward did such a good job. He had several people give short experiences about their temple experiences. THEN, we were told that we have a BIG poster that is up in the lobby and every time someone goes to the temple, they will put a sticker on the poster. As we talked about it, everyone was getting excited. After the meeting was over, Liz said to me, "I want to go to the temple so bad. I've got to get baptized!" I am just so thrilled for her. We are meeting again on Wednesday with the Elder's. I am loving Missionary work. It is just so exciting.
We all went to Joyce's for lunch. We had enchilada's, chips and salsa, cherry's and coconut cream cake.
We sang to Tony and had a wonderful visit. After we finished, Yeti left to go home and take his dogs on a walk. We all came over to our house and I showed my shells to them. I gave several to Lehi. We visited a while longer.
I got a picture of the 3 of them before they took off to go to Stillman's. They will be there for a while and then go to Deedra's for a visit and then all the 3 kids and their families are coming for Melissa's birthday and the 4th of July.
After, they left, I noticed my flower opening up a little bit more.
Life is wonderful and GOD IS GOOD.
