Knew it was gonna be a busy day so I got up at 6:40, dressed and headed to the gym with the hubby! I walked and visited with my friend Pat. We sure enjoy each other. She is a great gal. She lives in a little house beside her daughter's home and they raise chicken's (among other critters) Today, we gave her 3 butternut squash that were from last year's crop and I didn't want them anymore. I also gave her two bags of green beans that got too old.
She sent me pictures again of them devouring the squash!
Maybe they will get the green beans tomorrow! lol
We came home and I got ready to feed the Elder's and Liz. We have NEW Elder's now. The last two got transferred to Boise and these two got transferred from Boise to Nampa. Very nice young men and we settled right back in to great visits and discussions. I have tomatoes coming on in the garden by the bowl full. SO, we had BLT's with avocado and chips. I toasted the bread and let them make their own sandwich.
I made Puff Pastry mini pies with cherry pie filling last night. I used my silicone cupcake pans. I didn't realize I had two of them together so the tops got done but the sides didn't. I was so disgusted with myself! I put them on a different sheet and baked them again and they were OK but there are a few left over that I will put in the air fryer and hopefully they will be better. lol The boys and Liz said it was a fabulous lunch. That's all that counts. lol
After our lesson , I got pictures. Liz, and Elder Boldosz from the Philippines and Elder Nitzen is from California but now his family resides in Gilbert Arizona. They both have been out 11 months.
This was the 2nd time Liz has met with them and she is doing great! I had to laugh at her. She is struggling a bit with giving up coffee. She said 2 days ago God pushed a bowl out of her cupboard and it broke her coffee pot so now she HAS to quit completely. lol I told her I have gone 3 weeks without coke products so she can do it too. After our discussion, and the party left, Tony and I left for Caldwell. I had to see my kidney doctor. Actually, this time I met with Cypress, his Physicians assistant. She said things look really good and my Anca has come done tremendously! I said that I always worry because after I do labs, I look at the results online and so many said abnormal, abnormal, abnormal...... and she said "Oh Laverne, your never going to be normal!" Sounds like a joke but she was serious. Because of what I have, and only having one kidney that is functioning, I really won't ever be normal....BUT, I am improving so not to worry! I am scheduled for another infusion, August 14th and she said she will check with Doctor Kellar but that it should be 500 milligrams which is a half dose again. For so long I was getting 1000 milligrams so I'm happy it's getting cut in half. We stopped at COSTCO on the way home, Picked up a prescription and some milk etc. came home and then at 5:30, I picked up Joyce and Donna Jenkins and we went to Book Club at Joyce Glaettli's home. I would have picked up Lynn but she wanted to stay home and rest. She hasn't been feeling very well and she was hoping she'll be OK tomorrow when we go to the temple. We got home Tony went to a discussion with the Elder's and the Olenik's. I told them I would go when we ate lunch, but then remembered I had book club and had to pick up the elderly ladies. They were very understanding and Tony told me that Whitney said she missed having me there and how much she liked me. Tony said, she will be at the next one. It's been a very rewarding day. Time for a shower!
