BUSY START TO THE WEEK!~

Monday, we got up at 7:45 and went to the gym. Got our exercise outta the way and then came home and took care of the three yards. While I was mowing, my phone rang. I stopped the mower and it was Robin. She asked if I could pick up a prescription for her at Walgreens. I told her I was mowing the lawn and then had to go buy meat and watermelons for the Salvation Army luncheon which was on Tuesday. Then I said I'll get it after that BUT, will they let me pick it up??  She said they would so I told her to call them and tell them I was picking it up. Then she said, "Never mind, I can wait till Friday."  I told her I would come check on her after we finished the lawns and after I got my groceries.  When Tony got home, we took off for Costco and got the meat and 2 really nice watermelons. Came home and dropped off the stuff and I then drove to Robin's. She is definitely banged up from her fall. I stayed an hour and then came home because Shelly was bringing the rest of the food to my house, which she did.I then fried up the burger and put taco seasoning in it.  Shelly cme with the lettuce, beans, corn, tomatoes and peppers and she had it all in bags so I didn't have to open or empty any cans at the shelter. I took that stuff to Joyce;s house because I didn't have room for it in my fridge. The rest of the evening, Sister's were dropping off cookies for the luncheon. I rested on the couch and folded some laundry and watched NCIS!  lol

Tuesday morning, I got up and Tony loaded the cookies, chips and salsa in the car. Then we cut up the two watermelons and filled 3 big containers.  I had already cooked the burger and so I got it out of the refrigerator and put it in the car. Got the stuff from Joyce's fridge and I took off for the shelter.  Toni and her granddaughter were already there. We got busy, getting the trays ready for putting the food in as well as the trays for the people to eat off of. I warmed up the burger, because I don't like cold burger on Taco salad. We put it all together and then I opened the serving window and went out and asked them if they were hungry and ready for lunch. I got a
BIG UNANIMOUS "YES" , so I blessed the food and we got to serving! It went so well! They all had 2nd's and some thirds and then a whole bunch of them took "to go boxes" home with them. We got rid of all the food except for a few cookies. However, one lady asked if she could have them for a dance she was going to that night.

Glad to have it over with and glad they all enjoyed it and showed their appreciation through all kinds of compliments.
It was nice and made us feel so good. Love to serve!!
I came home and called Pat to see if she wanted to meet us at the rec center to walk. She was done with the appointments she had and was glad I called her. We walked our 4 miles. I made one pit stop to pee and forgot my phone was in my back pocket. I dropped my pants and head a BIG KER PLUNK!!  I turned around immediately and picked it out of the toilet fast!!  I dried it off really good and tried turning it on. It worked so I felt super fortunate.  When we went home, we ate a quick lunch and sat down to rest while we ate. I tried plugging in my phone and I got a beep beep beep and a warning that their was moisture in my phone and NOT to plug it in till it was completely dry. I stuck it in rice and proceeded to clean up my kitchen. My phone went off while it was in the rice and it was Robin. I finished my dishes and then called her back. She just wanted me to know that she thought she was going to be approved for home health. I am so grateful for that. It should take some of the pressure off of me.

Today (Wednesday) we met Pat at the gym at 7am. I gave her all the watermelon rinds for her chickens. She sent me a picture and said the chicken say Thank you! lol  I asked her if they liked beans and she said "Oh yes!"  so I went out to pick tomatoes and the rest of the beans and I'll give them to her tomorrow!

This poor lily looks sick!!  They just don't stand up well.

But it's beautiful when I lift its head!

I picked the beans and tomatoes that were ripe. Looks like a spaghetti tomato and basil dinner this Sunday!!  We went grocery shopping for the fixins for BLT'A's for tomorrow. We are getting new missionaries and Liz and them are coming for lunch and a discussion. Got it done and we're now home relaxing.
