GRATEFUL FOR A PLACE OF PEACE

I am so very grateful for a beautiful House of The Lord where I can go and put the world worries behind me for a while and feel the comfort of the Lord. We went three times last week and needed it.
We went Tuesday with Lynn, Joyce and Diane and then we subbed on Thursday and served our shift on Saturday. It was wonderful to be there, serving those who come to do the same. Feel Peace & Comfort. So much needed in my life.

The shooting of Charlie Kirk was so tragic and left me reeling. I don't care which way people lean, but to have this mother & wife lose her husband and her two beautiful children lose their father is just not right because someone chooses to disagree with his morals and his religious belief and to debate them with college students.
I needed the comfort of the temple so much!

We have so many grandchildren with birthdays this month so I made some cat cards with "Birthday wishes" and got them ready to mail.

Sunday night, we are taking a Self Reliance course at 6 to 8 or 8:30. It is a wonderful class and will happen for the next 8 weeks. We are thoroughly enjoying it and we are becoming friends with a lot of folks we don't know. Liz is going with us and she is loving it.

We went to the gym this morning and Shelly sent me a text and said she had made Sweet & Sour Sauce and wanted me to stop on our way home and get some. I did and she had me taste it!! It's delicious!! I told her that I will make Chicken Sweet & Sour over rice for Wednesday's lunch with Liz and the Sisters. I sure appreciate her. This makes my day so much easier!!

Tony and I ate a quick breakfast and then he went out to get the stump out of Joyce's yard. I started to clean my oven and do laundry.

I got a call from Jenni while I was working and she told me to help her think of a Sister who could have Amanda (a lady in the ward) in their home for 24 hours after a hand surgery she is having. The surgery has been put off a couple of times because no one volunteered. When we took Liz home last night from the Self Reliance class, she mentioned that she is going to be Amanda's action partner this week for the class. She said she found out a little bit about her situation and said she briefly thought about asking her to be a roommate but then quickly put it out of her mind.  Anyway, I told Jenni I would call Liz to  see if she would be able to put her up for 24 hours and then she would be able to go back to the shelter that she lives in now. Liz was so sweet and said she would do it. She just went through a surgery herself for the same thing so she knows what Amanda is going through. Then she told me she would need some help cleaning her home and moving some things around. I told her I'd be right over. I went and we moved a hope chest from the living room, into her bedroom. Then we cleaned out her extra bedroom, which she uses as her TV room. It has a big hide a bed in it. She had a gun cabinet she wanted to give away in there so I took a picture of it and posted it to the Ward FB page. I also put an end table on for her.

Not long after I posted it, the Bishop said he was interested but had to run it by the Mrs.  Soon he said he would come by after work to pick it up!  Liz was happy to get rid of it. Tony and I moved it to her sidewalk just outside her door so it will be an easy pickup.  I hope the end table goes too. She is so sweet to get rid of furniture to make room for her guest.  She's the best! I;m sure Amanda will appreciate the good person Liz is.
Tony came over and put up one of those screen's so she can have her door open and no flies can get in. It's a beautiful day and the temp is so comfortable!!  I helped her clean and discard some things and then she said she was good and could finish up on her own.
Came home, warmed us up some lunch and folded clothes and put them away and now I'm cleaning up to go on visits with Mindy. Hope we can get our visits done without any trouble. Till tomorrow, I'll sign off.  It's been a good day!
