I've taken my scrap bin downstairs and I cut out die's with all the scraps while we watch TV. lol It keeps my hands busy and it's getting the scrap bin smaller and smaller....
I decided to make one card to see if I could make a card with the scraps. WHALA, it worked! lol
SO, I have been cutting each evening when I have a few minutes. We went to the gym Monday, Tuesday to the temple and then cut both evenings. I have enough die cuts to make a lot of cards.
Wednesday, we went to the gym and then came home and made lunch for the Sister's, Liz and Amanda (who didn't want her picture taken). Amanda had her wrist surgery and was in a sling and her hand was all wrapped up so she wasn't feeling it. We had a good lunch. Rice with chicken and the sweet & sour sauce that I got from Shelly and vegetable egg rolls. Then I had pumpkin donuts for dessert. It was good and enough leftover for us on Thursday.
Thursday after the gym, I was hoping to go home and rest up. However, while we were eating breakfast, Tony says we should go to the orchard to pick apples. I called Lix to see if she could go (because she had told me she wanted to go when we went) but she had a prior commitment and couldn't.
It was a good thing she couldn't go because all that was left in the area we were to pick was ladder fruit. I tried to pick the lower things but I even had to get on a ladder.
NOT MY FAVORITE THING!!
Tony got up there and I was just too freaked out on the 10 foot ladder. Besides that, I couldn't hardly move it when I needed to. SO, he went and found me a 10 foot ladder which was still big but so much easier for me to move.
I found a double decker! lol we were picking JONATHAN Apples.
It was HARD picking just because we had to go up and down the ladder over and over. Our picking bags that fit over our shoulder kept catching on the ladder and making it hard to stretch to get some of the fruit. We picked for two hours and didn't even get the bin filled.
I finally told Tony that we would finish this one tree we were on and I had to call it quits. He agreed!! So when we finished, we walked back to our truck, drank some water and then tried to find the GRANNY SMITH apples because I wanted to make Caramel Apples. We had a map but couldn't find the road that took us to them so we just went up to the FUJI'S.
They were kinda green but they will redden up over time. I'm gonna make some caramel apples with them. lol We didn't pick too many and we'll give some away. Then we went home.
I some how got a bunch of stickers on my shoes, pants and socks. They were really sharp and I had to wear my gloves to pick them off. Tony didn't get very many but his pants were a heavy canvas type. Mine were just cotton jersey and those little bugger struck to me like crazy!! OUCH!!
Tony's skin is getting so thin and he got scratched up BIG TIME in the tree's!! we took shower's and then rested the remainder of the day. He worked on his puzzle and I cut out more die cuts. I went to bed at 8 and read my book till Tony came up at 9. We were both pretty tired and slept good.
