Last Saturday night, our friends came over to have dinner and play games. When they got to our house they remarked that Tony's Uncle Bob was on a ladder trying to scrape snow off his roof. (He's 88 for petes sake!!) AND it was getting dark!! I called his wife Joyce and told her to tell Bob to get off that ladder and we would borrow Shawns snow rake and come over after church the following day and remove it. She said she had tried to tell him but he is stubborn!! lol SO, I stepped out and yelled at him and told him to get off that ladder! I repeated what I had told Joyce and so he turned and said "I'm getting down" .... lol
I admire these elderly that insist on doing things on their own but we don't want him falling and breaking a hip or something!!
So the following day, after church and dinner, Tony and I went over and Tony cleaned off the roof as best he could witht he rake. (Above picture) I then shoveled all the snow that had fallen onto their sidewalk. Then Tony proceeded to take all the HUGE ice chunks out of the ice dam that had frozen in their drain gutters. The entire length of the gutter was a huge frozen cylinder!
It took Tony some time and then when he was finished with Bob and Joyce's, he came home and proceeded to do the same on our roof. He also did the shed out back. This has been an incredible winter with more snow than we know what to do with! lol
