CRAMMING ON SATURDAY!~

Oh my goodness!!~  Can life please just slow down? I am definitely ready to retire and have some spare time!!  Friday night after work I stopped by Suzy Wiederich's home to drop off a goodie basket I had put together for her. (She just had surgery) I rang her door bell and waited......no answer. I knocked and waited .... no answer. I called her on the phone and waited ..... no answer. Then I texted her and told her I was on her porch..... no response. I assumed she was sleeping so I left the basket on a bench on her door step and left. About 20 minutes later I was at Fred Meyer's getting a few things I needed for dinner and she texted me back and said she had been sleeping. She was in and out with the pain medication. I told her I would see her on Tuesday when I bring a meal into her.
Then I went home. I was making dinner when Julie (who used to be my VT) came over to help me repot my orchid. Come to find out, I didn't have the right pot as well as a lot of other things she told me I needed. (She's an expert on Orchids so she knows!!~)  I told her we would go get the things and she planned to come back Monday after I get home from work.  We ate a quick bite and then went shopping for what I needed. After running to 5 different stores, we finally got everything (we hope) and got home around 8:30. We sat down on the couch to relax a bit and settle ourselves down. I called Lubov (my Russian friend) to see what time she was going to come over Saturday. We had planned to get together and make jewelry and she was going to teach me how to make Borscha. I got a hold of her and she apologised and said she had a birthday party to attend which she just found out about. (This is the 2nd time she's had to cancel) I said it was OK because we had games to go to for the grand kids anyway!  So, Saturday morning (bright and early) we got up and went to Garrett's game at 8:30! (No sleeping in for this gal!~)

Garrett is 10 now and doing well. He was born with a heart defect and has endured 2 open heart surgeries! He is wearing hearing aides now and he struggles a bit because he is timid. BUT he is the sweetest boy and loves to give hugs when we see him. He loves to play basketball and it was fun to watch him.  (He's the one on the right on his tippy toes!

He was all smiles after his game! He gave us both a
BIG HUG and thanked us for coming to his game!~
We then headed home to get some laundry and house cleaning done (It is Saturday after all) and get ready to go to Jack's game at 12:30. I was busy unloading the dishwasher when Deedra called and said Jack was not feeling well and so he didn't want to go to his game so we didn't need to go. That gave me a little time to prepare for Sunday dinner. I put the meat in the crockpot and peeled carrots and potatoes and put them both in pots with salt water and then I set the table. Mom and Dad Norton and Tony's Unle Bob and Aunt Joyce were coming for dinner and I didn't want to have to rush after church!~

At 2:30 we went to South Junior High to watch Ellie and Livie play basketball.  They both play on the same team and their dad (in the red) is the assistant coach. Both girls are wearing #5 shirts. They played really well. Ellie scored a basket and Livie is pretty aggressive for her size. The older the kids get, the more exciting the game is. A lot more action going on! They keep score too! They don't do that for the younger kids! Afterall, they are just learning!

I wanted a picture of the girls after the game and of course girls being girls, they said
"You won't want to hug me, I'm sweaty"
(Both of them said it!~  lol) But we hugged them anyway!~  Lol
And they were both a little upset with their dad who had been yelling things for them to do from the sidelines as the game was being played!

So I said "Come on, give gramma a smile" and this is what I got! lol
Just goes to show ya that
Girls don't like to be told what to do.... no matter what age!  lol
After the game, we went home and I put together a sald to take to "GAME NIGHT" at the Sugg's home.  Then at 5:45 we headed to their home and had a wonderful time. Dale had prepared a wonderful "Rib Roast" and Christine made cheesy potatoes and green beans with toasted almonds!
And of course I had prepared a kale salad with poppyseed dressing. The Jarretts didin't make it this time as Shawn was sick. Suzette was to bring the dessert and so we didn't have it. (Not that any of us needed it either)  After dinner we played our ususal "Mexican Train" and laughed and caught up on things as we hadn't been together since last November because Dale was sick in November and then Tony was sick in December and January Dale was sick again. It was fun to visit and play games with them again. They are good friends!~
Sunday, I was put in as Relief Society Board Chairman so tonight after work I have to go to Klynn Miller's home and she is going to give me some instruction. I canceled my Orchid replanting with Julie again. Tuesday, I'm bringing a meal into Suzy, Wednesday night Tony has a meeting at our house and Thursday evening we are going to the Temple. SO, Julie has graciously declined coming over till Friday night.  My poor orchid is being put on hold till then!  Life just gets too busy! That's why I can't wait to retire!  lol
