Traci, Sophia and Isabel are going to HONDURAS in June for a week
to help at a clinic for the poor.
It is a GREAT experience but I worry about them. I pray for their safety. Traci assures me that they will be OK. They stay on a compound with others and do not go anywhere alone!!

They want to make little bags for the women and children. The bag is for them to put their medications and toiletries in. Traci said that the country is so poor that these women and children are thrilled to get these little bags. They act as though they just received a GUCCHI !!
They are also collecting shoes. She said one woman walked barefooted to the clinic last year and was presented a pair of shoes. When she left she carried the shoes. Someone asked her why she wasn't wearing them and she replied "I'm saving them for Sunday!~
We truely don't appreciate how blessed we are in this country! |

Traci asked if I could make some and if I thought the women in RS would make some. Well, we had a meeting on Sunday which discussed the newest church program called
"JUST SERVE"..... it is a wonderful program and we can go online and sign up for a number of activities in our own little community to help serve others. I know this project isn't in our comunnity of Nampa but it is a Humanitarian Service Project and it is definitely "serving" so I hope I can get some women to help me make several bags. I am going to talk about it in Relief Society tonight and see what happens. Traci gave me a pile of fabric so I cut out 65 bags yesterday and I had the intention of making one to take with me to Relief Society tonight to show the women. I got so wrapped up in the project that I made 18 bags in one evening and I still had time to make dinner, eat, watch a TV program with my hubby and take a shower.....lol They don't take all that much time so I think I will easily get the 65 done before they leave in June. Just hope I can get a number of other sisters to help make more!!
ANYONE WANT TO HELP?? |
