SHABBY CHIC RESTORATION!~

Last night for Relief Society we had a Sister from another Ward come and teach us all about "SHABBY CHIC" restoration! We met in the RS room at 1st and she taught us about the paints, stains, brushes etc. that are used when doing this method. She showed us pictures on the big screen of her home and almosty literally EVERYTHING in her house is SHABBY CHIC!
IT WAS SO COOL!~
After her picture presentation, she took us to the cultural hall and she had 5 items she had purchased at thrift stores that day!! We were all hands on and the RS President and I worked on this cool item!!

This was a bench of sorts that was all brown and a paint and vaseline method was used on it!

This was a metal bucket and it was all rusty looking, painted with a mustard paint and when dry it was scraped with a knife and then waxed!

Our item when finished and the glass panels put back in!  I love it!
Ours was painted with a cream paint. Then we sanded it and then shined it up with steel wool!

Here's the brown bucket finished!
SO COOL!~

The woman in the stripped shirt is our instructor!
She was amazing!!

This was a wooden serving tray that was painted a light blue and then stained with a brown stain and wiped off! I love the raised portion on the tray!
After we were all finished she had a drawing and 5 lucky sisters each went home with one of the  pieces finished!!  I was not one of the fortunate one's BUT now I know how to do it so I will look at things at a thrift store with a whole new attitude!
FUN NIGHT!~
Not a big attendance so I was disappointed in that but I understand this is NOT everyone's style!!
