LOSS OF A BROTHER!~

We got some devasting news last night. There was a phone call that came in from an unknown Utah #. I didn't answer and it came again. Tony decided to pick up the phone and I heard him say
"Is this serious?"  He listened for a bit and after finishing the call he told me that it was Karla's sister saying that his brother was killed at Snowbird yesterday morning in a sking accident.  We tried to call Karla but there was no answer. He immediately got on the Internet and looked up KSL News. Indeed, a Daryl Norton of SLC, age 54 had died at Snowbird in a sking accident.
We immediately started calling family starting with Tony's mother. She was at Deedra's giving piano lessons. She said she had better get home to Art because she didn't want him finding out while he was alone. Christy (Karla's sister) had said that she called Art and Lynn 1st but decided not to tell him because of his condition and Lynn was not home so she called Tony. For the next couple of hours, Tony was on the phone relaying the sad news to all his children and confirming with his sisters in Utah.  Sad day!

Daryl was a vibrant energetic man who enjoyed all sports, traveling and spending time with his wife Karla and their 4 beautiful daughters. We find some comfort in knowing he died while doing something he truely loved to do.

UPDATE:

I called Cori last night to see if there was any news since they did the autopsy. She said that Daryl died of a broken neck and probably instantly. They said he was on a run that has a jumb and he was at the botton of the jump. His tracker said he had been going 70 MPH!!  Wow, That is simply way to fast ..... no time to error and recover!
