R.S. BIRTHDAY DINNER

I was so glad that I had all my decorations put together for the RS Birthday dinner. I simply did not have time after Gordon's death to do anything but tend kids and keep them entertained! As it was, all the kids from out of town, left on Sunday (except for Chris) and he left on Monday evening. I was able to spend a little one on one with him on Monday morning. Then Monday night, I made some more tissue flowers for the walls out of the left over paper I had. Tuesday morning, we got right to it!! It was sure a busy 3 weeks!!
The flyer for the dinner was done by Ashley Doxey, She did a magnificent job!!

I did the table decorations which consisted of a toilet paper roll little Mexican Man. I got the little sombreros at Hobby Lobby and added the pom poms! I got the little tissue flowers done early! (THANK GOODNESS) as they took a little time. I also made a felt cactus for each table. My grand daughter, Nikki, had made me one for Christmas and when I saw it, I knew I had to make more for the Fiesta!! They took the most time but I did them as I watched TV in the evening. We used the Rotel tomato cans and Pinto bean cans (from our meal prep)  for the holder for the flowers!

Zella Hendrix is my right hand lady! She came over the beginning of February and helped me make large tissue flowers for the walls. She also was the one who helped me decorate on Tuesday morning! We both went to the thrift store ahead of time and found peasant blouses and fancy skirts. Her's was so colorful and really nice. I waited longer than her and grabbed what I could find. I had to wear another top underneath as my blouse was HUGE!  lol

Sister Ebert from the Spanish Ward was so gracious to bring her kids to dance for us! They were her daughters and neices and nephews. Their costumes were bright, colorful and absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!

These young boys were adorable!  The youngest is 5 and he started dancing when he was 3. The older boy is 12! They were pretty serious about their dancing and were ever bit as entertaining as the girls in their colorful dresses!

The girls twirled their dresses to the music and it was beautiful as well as quite the air conditioner if you were halfway close to them!  lol  Such a GREAT EVENING OF WONDERFUL ENTERTAINMENT!

Ashlee Doxey (in black) and her mother!  Posing for such a cute picture!! Ashley is the one who made the flyers for me! It was a fun fun night . Sister Lorna Loveland and Sister Linda Hammond  (and I helped a bit) made the meal! It was so awesome. We had a sampler plate with : Spanish rice, a chicken enchilada, chili relleno, tamale, a salad with pico de gallo on top and two street taco's!  We served Tres Leche cake for dessert!
