I got up this morning, made my bed and dressed, and then worked on my STORY WORTH Book while Tony slept. When he came upstairs (he had been on the couch) I went down to make some breakfast. He is blowing out sprinklers today. I made some 9 grain cereal and toast and then he went out to get all his equipment ready! I started making a soup for dinner. The door bell rang and it was my friend, Jorjette.
She brought back my tub and she put 4 HUGE peaches in it. Man, they are super nice ones. She said, she and her husband had been out to the orchard to sort pears and bought a box of peaches. I told her we hadn't heard anything about Pear sorting this year and she said her husband wasn't getting the emails. She will let us know when the next time is. I love to do that!! After she left, I went back to preparing my soup.
Tony asked me to come out to help him a minute. He found a broken sprinkler pipe in the front yard. I had to turn on the pump while he found the crack. He will have to repair it and it won't be an easy fix!
Then he continued blowing out the back yard. I watched and took pictures of my Begonias .... again!! I know, I know, I'm obsessed with them!
They are just sooooo beautiful!!
I'm gonna miss them when they are gone....
But that gives me something to look forward to in the spring!!
Planting them again!
The hydrangeas are turning a pretty pink. They have never been as full as I'd like but hey, they are still pretty!
I came in to check on my soup. It's ready to have the cheese added, but I'll wait till just before we eat. I want to make some cookies in the worst way, but we are trying to lose weight and I really shouldn't!! I am going out to pull up the Dahlias. They have had it.
LOL, The stalks on the Dahlias were so big that I had to cut them off!! But, as you can see, they are dying from the bottom up! They still had buds but without water, they won't bloom anymore this year! Darn, I sure enjoyed them!
So time to come out!! Till next year!!
Tony wants me to touch up our little boy!! He was air brush painted by Bruce (our next door neighbor who moved) and I am scared to touch him up. I'm afraid I'll ruin him! None, the less, our little guy is getting put in the shed for the winter.
Daddy loves him. He's our kid who doesn't give us any trouble!
Bah hah hah!!
I counted 10 more squash in the garden. There are a few more who are still a little green so I'm going to leave them a couple more weeks.
I picked 5 more tomatoes. They finish ripening on the counter but I have a good sized bowl full. I think I'll cook them down today and bottle the sauce. I'll probably just freeze it. They look so pretty with the Marigolds!
Now, I'm growing Pumpkins!!
lol, They add to the October Festivities!!
Tony has gone to Aunt Joyce's house to blow out her system and then he'll go and blow out him Mom's.
Check out the dirt in the lines!! No wonder he had to clean her heads on a weekly basis all summer!!
The one near the road kept going and going with dirt!!
Look what it left on the sidewalk! lol I bet the pipes feel better. UPCHUCK all that dirt!! lol
I decided to skin my tomatoes and freeze them for chili or stews later. After I par boiled them till the skins split, I put them in a sink of ice water and went to check on the hubs.
He was on the last zone at Joyce's house.
Thar she blows! lol
As I was coming back home, I noticed Tony had got down my big terra cotta Pumpkin and put it on the porch for me!!
What a gem he is!!
When I got home, I skinned the tomatoes, bagged them and froze them. Chili, here we come!!
Tony came in after finishing Joyce's system, and I fed him his dinner. Sausage/cheese soup and a Artisan toast. Now, he's gone to Lynn's to blow out her sprinkler system. I am going for a walk around the park so I can at least get an exercise day and then I'll come home and shower and do a batch of whites!~
Well, I did my walk, got my exercise day and over 10,000 steps. It will be minor to Tony's 20,000 plus but I'm ok with that. I definitely had to shower when I got home and now to do the laundry. Tony is home so guess I'll wait till he showers so I can do his whites as well. Time for a little R&R!~
