Tony and I worked at the temple this morning and then went immediately to Brother Poulsen's funeral after our shift. We were about 15 minutes late but not bad considering. The service was so nice. The internment was at Kohler Lawn's immediately after the service.
I stayed at the church and helped the sisters with getting the meal set up. After Tony got back from having the tires checked, we went home and ate lunch and then I went back to help the sisters clean up!
This picture of Dave & Doris was on one of the tables. His wife passed 3 years ago. Such a sweet couple!! Once we were done cleaning up the funeral dinner, I went home and got my salad made for the BBQ at 6 and I also washed half the table cloths. Jenni did the other half. We went back at 6 for the BBQ.
Brother Porter, Steve Hammond and the Bishop were out barbequing the dogs and burgers.
The whole point of the BBQ was to invite friends & neighbors who are not of our Faith. We wanted them to know that we believe in our Savior and what each organization does. There were several people who came. Tony and I went around to the tables and introduced ourselves and got to know some of the community who came.
The couple we had invited, backed out but we met some really nice people. Some just saw the sign and came, and some were invited by friends in the Ward.
It was a great turnout and a lot of fun.
And it was good food!! I had gotten a call from Heather just before we came to the church. She said she was 2 hours out. I told her to call me when she arrived and we'd come home. She called about 7:30 so we made our goodbyes and came home.
The kids are on Fall break and have to be back Tuesday but I get to enjoy them for a few days. Mara is ready for bed!
Sawyer just brushed his teeth and is headed to bed! lol
And Rowan is trying to avoid going to bed! lol So glad they came. It's been too long! Glad they are going to be staying with me a couple of days. It was a total surprise!!
