OOP'S, I DID IT AGAIN!!

Last Thursday, the 27th of October, Tony and I were just about ready to leave for the Temple with Lynn & Joyce. Tony was reading Ezekiel to us when I decided to run up stairs and get some throat lozenges. On my way back down, I biffed it! I seriously don't know how I did it. I think the toe of my shoe caught the carpet....I'm  really not sure. All I know is I fell face first down about 6 steps. Tony came running to help me up. He got me seated in a chair and then had to doctor my right eye. My glasses cut me on my eyebrow and below my eye and I was bleeding. He called Lynn & Joyce and told them we couldn't go. He took me to the ER at Saint Lukes.
I was admitted and had to get a CT scan and a chest x-ray and then both wrists. After 3 and 1/2 hours, I got all bandaged up!

Both wrists were broken. The left worse than the right. I was given a prescription for Norco and a vomit pill. We went immediately to Costco to pick them up and get my glasses fixed. They were all bent up and the right lenses had popped out. Tony made me sit in a wheel chair and I was so embarrassed. Naturally, when you don't want to see anyone ya know, ...... ya do! 1st, I see Jan and Britany Poulson. Jan is our compassionate service leader in the ward. Her daughter, Britney is my  hygienist. Then we see Anita Zufeld from the Stake.  Then we run into Martina Partita, a friend from the rec center, lol                                              Can't win!  lol
We went home and Tony got me settled. He had bought me a slice of pizza at Costco and had it all cut into pieces. He would come and give me a bite and then try to eat his. Then Anita shows up!!

Anita had homemade chicken soup, a bread and a half gallon of peppermint ice-cream. She is so sweet. She fed me my pizza and got me a straw and a bottle of water. She also gave me a beautiful wrap she bought at Costco.  it's so warm and lovely!!
But I look nasty!  I feel worse than I look though!!
Traci, ( bless her heart) has been coming me out every few days to braid my hair so it will stay outta my face.

It hasn't helped my looks a lot though! lol
After a couple of days, I learned to feed myself!  Two fingers is the best I could do but I was trying. As long as the food was thick and would stay on the spoon.  Saturday, Tony worked our shift at the Temple. Lynn came over to sit with me.  At 8:30, Joyce came over and made breakfast. We had pancakes. So sweet of them1

Saturday night, Tony took me to his mom's to be 'babysat' lol  He went to the BSU game, which I was supposed to. Hawkins had been selected to play with the BSU band at halftime. I got to see the game on Lynn's TV but missed the half time!  Tony dressed me for the game! ( unfortunately, he has had to do a lot for me I wish he didn't have to do) It was a great game! I got a lot of nice calls from friends from the ward.

I got a package in the mail and it was a package of warm fuzzy socks. They are so sweet!

Yesterday, I went to see the surgeon!  It was great news. He took off both casts. NO SURGERY NEEDED!
As a matter of fact, I don't have a cast at all on the right wrist at all. It's broken but he wants me to use it as much as possible. CAREFULLY!!
The left wrist was put in a splint of sorts. I will have to wear it for 6 weeks then get x-rayed again. I may possibly have to wear it for 4 more weeks after that.  I have been trying to do as much as I can. Tony has got a bad cold. Poor guy got sick working so hard. Unfortunately, he still has to help me some things because my right wrist still hurts and doesn't have much strength.
IT SUCKS BEING LAID UP!!
