BUSY DAY!~

Tony went to the gym this morning and I got the apples out of the garage and washed them and set them out to dry. We were waiting for the Apple Peeler to show up today so we could start making Apple Pie Filling!

I figured it would make about 12 quarts, so when Tony got home, he went out to the shed and brought me in a case of jars. I got them in the dishwasher and ready to go.

We also got out the Sand  dollars because we were going to make a shadow box for our neighbors, the Jarrett's. However, we will have to do it tomorrow...we didn't get that far! lol

We ate dinner before starting on the big project. Then we both relaxed a bit and worked on our puzzle books.  Keeping the brain sharp. Well, trying! lol

About 5:30, we started on our pie filling. Tony did the peeling.

I made the sauce and filled the bottles and processed them!

It was a very time consuming and Tony had to go out to the shed to get more bottles! I got them washed and we were off again!

Don't know what I'd do without this guy! He is the BEST PARTNER in anything we pursue together! I couldn't have done this project by myself with my energy levels so low right now. He helped me tremendously!! God Bless Him!!

As it was, we didn't get t all processed until 11PM!!  It was a successful day and we'll have pies into the summer....cuz I don't make many of them! lol

We did get 18 quarts of pie filling, and one bottle of just sauce. I'll use it on a apple crumble or something like that. I bottled it cuz I didn't want to toss it out!  Took a shower while the last bottles processed and I'm bushed! I hope I sleep good tonight!
