It's a beautiful Easter morning. I woke up to a text from my brother. It was a short video Charcie had made of my mom. She told my mom how much her children and grandchildren loved her and mom responded saying she loved all of us and was so grateful to have us all in her life. It was a sweet Easter Blessing!! We got dressed for church. I was glad we did all the preparation for dinner last night ie: table and decorations etc. I can enjoy the Spirit of this wonderful day now as we watch Easter videos on TV.
We watched Music & The Spoken Word and Lloyd Newell interviewed the Donner family who recently lost their baby boy. It was tearful but uplifting. They have such faith in our Lord and his atonement and resurrection. It was wonderful to hear their testimony's!
I too am so grateful for my Savior and his Atonement and resurrection! I love Easter and the hope and joy it brings into our lives. I am looking forward to our Sacrament meeting where we will worship through song. The choir is doing an Easter Presentation and Tony and his group of eight men will sing
"I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES"
acapella. It will be beautiful! The men always sound so wonderful!!
I also have a little Easter humor that I love
and will share! Kinda cute!
After church, we got the ham out of the oven and applied the glaze. Put it back in for 10 minutes and then Tony cut it up and put in on a platter. We put it back in the oven on warm with the funeral potatoes until everyone arrived. Scott and Jill, Mary, Claire and Scotlyn got here 1st. Shortly thereafter, Hawkins and Mostyn came. Then Tammy, Chris and the kids.
We were all ready to eat! It was a good meal! We had ham, funeral potatoes, green bean casserole, strawberry pretzel salad, relish tray, deviled eggs, and cinnamon cake and cheesecake for dessert!
I don't think anyone went away hungry! lol
Hawk had to leave to do homework so Mary and I each got a picture with him before he took off! He's so tall and thin!
We wanted family pictures too so went into the back yard and got one before Hawkins left! One for Mary!
And one for me!! Tony was in the house cleaning up the kitchen. After Hawkins left, we had an Easter egg hunt in the back yard for the 3 little kids. Then we came in and tony set up a movie in the back room for them to watch. Chris and Tammy ended up staying back there with them and Tammy napped. The rest of us played GOLF! It was fun. After 8 rounds, the Stewarts had to leave so Scotlyn could get her posters done for approval. She had some really cute ideas!!
Shortly after they left, we got pictures of the Floyds!
One with Gramma Lynn. (Katie had left right after dinner. Her dad took her home or to a friends home so she is not in the picture.
Then we got one with them. It was around 7:30 going on 8, so the Floyds left as well. Tony and I finished cleaning up the kitchen and putting food away. I see Beans and Ham in my future! lol
It was a wonderful day!
HAPPY EASTER ALL!~
