Yesterday was a pretty laid back Sunday. We went to choir practice 1st, and then before Sacrament meeting started, we were visiting with Lorna Loveland and Brother Hammond came up and asked us if we had a few minutes. We did and low and behold he asked us if we would speak in Sacrament meeting next week. I think he's getting back at us for getting his pens at such a bargain at the Ward Fund Raiser. lol Anyway, now its a week of worrying about that. lol We had a wonderful Sacrament meeting and the Porter's spoke. They are such a fantastic family and they are moving (probably in July) to Pocatello. So sad to see them go. Their talks were so good! We had dinner at Aunt Joyce's and she made crepes with strawberries and whipped cream. It was good. We came over to our house after and watched THE CHOSEN. Luba came over at 6 o'clock and I drove her and Joyce to show them where to go for their eye and dermatology appointments. Luba's is today and I just didn't have the time to take her and wait while she got her eyes checked. After we got back, we finished the 1st disc in Season one and then the ladies went home. We went to bed and read part of our lesson for this coming Sunday. Then turned in.
We got up this morning and went to the gym. I walked my 4 miles and Tony did as well and then went to do his weights. After we finished, we went to D&B for Gypsum but they were out of it. We also got a few bags of sand to put under the cement blocks he is putting around the raised garden bed. There was a man getting a yard and a half of bark in the back of his truck. The wind was blowing and it was going all over the place. He didn't cover it so, I hope he didn't lose the top half a yard by the time he got home.
When we did get home, I made us a slice of the delicious cinnamon bread that we bought at the fund raiser and then Tony went with Brother Loveland to get a lift chair to bring to the Francis home as Luva gets home today from her surgery. While Tony was gone, I got busy planting the Peony's he bought me to replace the one I gave to Alivia.
It took me a while to dig out all the roots and what not from the hole. I then added some of the Potash that I'd put in the other flowers and then I put 4 of the roots in this hole. Got it all covered and moved on to a pot that needed one in the middle.
This one had a space in the middle so I added one to it as well.
My blossoming cherry tree is so pretty right now. Thought I'd better get a picture of it as the wind is blowing and the petals are coming off. (Darn wind) We even had some bees in the tree yesterday enjoying the nectar. I like the way the sun was coming through on the left side. It's clouding up so I moved to the back yard and planted some Peony in the pot in the back as it was needing another.
Tony got home as I was finishing up and he was heading to Joyce and Lynn's to mow and edge. He edged ours 1st and I mowed our yard. Feels good to be strong enough to help this year. I didn't help much last summer as my health declined. After I finished, I came in the house and bagged up some of the cinnamon bread and some of the black bread that we bought at the fund raiser. I took it over to Sister Bailey. In choir on Sunday, everyone that got a loaf of the bread was saying they had a piece for breakfast and Sister Bailey said she would pay me for a slice. lol She was thrilled to get 5 slices of bread from me today and I didn't make her pay a cent. lol
It is clouding up and Tony is now at his mom's house mowing her lawn. I am working on my talk for Sunday. I'm kinda hoping it rains a bit to water the Peonies I just planted. We'll see. OOPS, I was wrong. He came home because her garbage was full so he will mow her lawn on Wednesday after her trash is picked up.
He was putting down the pavers around the raised garden bed so I went out to take a look and saw my BASKET OF GOLD starting to bloom! YAY!~
He had put down sand 1st and packed it good and told me he would want me to check it out height wise when he finished. SO, I went in to check on lunch and make some sugar water for the
Hummingbird feeder.
Got it done and then left it to cool.
He got the pavers all laid and they will be great! I LIKE THEM!
Then he spread gypsum on the garden and also in the raised bed. He will till it all in tomorrow while I am at SILVER SISTERS and then we will plant our garden on Wednesday.
It's gonna be a busy week and I want to have time to prepare my talk as well. Time to work on it NOW!~
