COULD A WEEKEND GET ANY MORE FULL ??

There are some weekend's when your glad it's Monday again so you can get some rest!!  lol  This past weekend was one of them. I had to open and close on Friday because Nancy was out so it was a long day to begin with. 10 hours to be exact! When I got home, I started dinner because Tony was on his way after his 12 hour day. Deedra called and asked if we could watch the kids so she could go to the hospital and visit Gramma Port. We ate quickly and were at her house by 6:15. She was only gone about an hour so after she got back we went home and relaxed for a bit and then hit the sack because we knew Saturday was going to be a full day.
We started  the day off working in the yard and house. Tony blew the patio and rock off (they are full of the pesky catkins from the willow tree) while I mowed the yard and did laundry in between bag dumps!  He also hoed the garden (which is coming up nicely)  After we were finished we headed to Winco and Costco to do a little grocery shopping. It was nearly one in the afternoon and we started shortly after 8AM. I had to be at Camp Certification at 2PM and Tony was getting picked up by Chris & Tamara to go to Katie's dance recital.  (Above is Grandpa with Katie after her performance)  We had to split it up today because I was going to Nicole's piano recital at 3:30.  I stayed at the Camp Certification for a little over an hour and then headed out to the piano recital.

Nikki played two numbers. The 1st one a lone and the 2nd was a duet with her instructor. She did a great job!

The last half of the program was all Patriotic music with some sing alongs.  At one point the kids were able to go up front and wave the flags while the teacher and a student played a duet. Garrett and Jack really got into that!!

Nikki is the newest student in the group. One year now. Here she is with her award. The recital lasted till shortly after 5PM. I then hurried out to Kuna to give Traci her birthday gift. I knew that Sophia and Isabel were competing in a horse show but I figured I'd missed it because it started early in the day. I got lucky and was able to watch Sophia ride in her last event.

When I got to the arena, Andrew was sitting up on a BIG HORSE named Sparks! He looked proud as peas!

Isabel  had been riding Sparks earlier but the horse is so big and she is so small and she couldn't get him to do what she wanted him to do. I guess she got scared and had a bit of a melt down and wanted to quit. Traci told her she didn't have to be in anymore of the competition for the day but that she didn't want her to quit. She told her she would buy her a big belt if she kept riding. Isabel agreed!  lol

Sophia was asked to ride a different horse ( instead of Sparks, her usual mount)  in this competition.  I guess the horse belongs to a friend of her Grandma Ann. The horse was 4 years old and had never been in a competition .  Sophia is pretty good for her age and she did a GREAT job! The highest score was 69 and there were other scores in the 60s and Sophia got 61 1/2.  We were all proud of her.

Here she is after the ride and her Grandma Ann was giving her the news. She was pretty happy with the results too.

And Caden sends me off with a smile and a thumbs up!  lol   Our Sunday was going to be busy too so when I got home I started cleaning the old popcorn maker that Tony had up at the cabin.  It was a greasy mess and when Tony came home he pitched in too. We were up till after midnight getting that thing cleaned and then cleaning up the kitchen after we were done.   After our meetings on Sunday, we got back to having our FHE with mom and dad Norton and Bob and Joyce. It's been  about 4 weeks missed so we were happy to get them started again. It was our turn to host so we made pork chops with mushroom onion gravy and mashed potatoes. Joyce brought a beautiful tossed salad and Lynn brought a Sour cream Lemon pies! Mmmmmmmm!  We played a few hands of UNO after dinner and the lesson and quit at 8AM. We were tired and ready to hit the sack. Monday was looking awful good after such a busy weekend. That's terrible when ya look forward to going to work to get some rest!~  lol
