PIONEER DAY CELEBRATION

We got up this morning, EARLY and served our shift at the temple. It was wonderful!  We love serving on Saturdays.

We got home, and changed our clothes. I iced my cupcakes and then we hurried to COSTCO to pick up the water, watermelon and ice. We came home and put the ice in coolers and then ran to the church and put the watermelons in the fridge and dropped off 4 cases of water. Then we went to Lynn's to see Deedra and the kids before they headed back to Washington.

They had just finished up lunch so then we decided to play some GOLF before they took off.

After we played a few rounds, Tony played a match game with the little girls while we watched Jack's jazz concert on the ROCU. 

While they were loading up the car, we got some pictures of the little girls with us!  GRAMMA VERNIE

After we got our pictures, Tony and I went to the church and set up tables and chairs. Then home to rest a bit before the party started.

We picked up Joyce and Lynn at 5:45 and headed to the church. It was a fantastic celebration. Such a good turnout that we had to set up two more tables.

They served sloppy joes, baked beans, hotdogs, chips, corn, potato chips, watermelon, cupcakes, pie & slushies. 

All nummy! 

They played JEPORDY about Pioneer things. It was really fun!

The Primary children went into the Primary room and made horses and hats. Then they paraded through the cultural hall for the adults.

When they finished, they went back to the Primary room and I got a picture of them all.

After the picture, we helped clean up the cultural hall and then the children went outside and made ice-cream in a bag with ice and salt.

My Russian friend Lubov, took pictures of her and Sister Jenkins. Some sister's dressed as Pioneers....me, not so much!lol

Joyce wore a dress that one of her husbands relatives gave her.

 It was a greact activity. Tony and I are home now and ready for bed. It was a fun full day!!
