I slept so good last night. I was really tired after getting up at 4:30 and serving in the temple and then having the block party. I needed a good sleep and I got it! YAY!~
I got up and got ready for church and then had a few things to do around the house so got to them. I had a bunch of egg shells I needed to pulverize for my garden (next year) I found a plastic container in the garage that I will store the powder in. I'll be getting a lot more as the year goes on. They sure look like they set my blender on fire with all the powder smoke. lol I got little Tony's gift wrapped and then we watched a wonderful program on TV from the Tabernacle choir and the KING'SMEN SINGERS. A sextet from King College in England. Boy, they were good. It was a lovely program. At 12:30 we went to choir practice and then to Sacrament meeting. We heard from the Stake R.S. President and our High Councilman, Brother Miller. Both were EXCELLENT! After church, we hurriedly put up tables & chairs for our "Linger Longer" I got out all the plates and cups and plasticware for eating and then we hurried home to change and get our food.
We got set up and the tables filled up as more and more came. Brother Preece made pot roast and everyone brought sides. It was good! A lot to choose from.
There weren't a lot right at the 1st but it filled
up as the afternoon progressed.
Everyone started to get in line .
Some chose to socialize a bit before digging in!
It was a nice afternoon and a nice break from doing
the usual on Sunday.
When we finished cleaning up, we went home and put our left over's away. Then we headed to Chris & Tammy's to celebrate little Tony's birthday. He will turn 9 tomorrow.
He was so excited about his cake. It had trick candles on it, so when he blew them out, they lit right back up again. lol
Grandma Norton gave him $20 dollars.
He got a puzzle from us.
It's a 1000 pieces so he may have to have his parents help.
He got Mario Brother's curtains and some toys from a cartoon he watches. (I didn't know it) After he finished opening gifts, we watched ELEMENTAL (I think that's what it was called) It was cute. After the movie, Chris & Tony gave Lynn a blessing. She fell and hurt her knee a week ago and she doesn't think it is healing fast enough. We also found out that Ellie & Joe got engaged so now we have 2 weddings at the end of the year. Blake & Grace on November 25th and Ellie & Joe on December 30th. It's gonna be a busy yearend!
