We left for home yesterday. Got up at 6am, were packed and hit McDonalds at 10 to 7, grabbed a breakfast sandwich and took off for home. A bitter sweet departure!
When we got to the Portland area, we thought there was an accident on the freeway because we were all having to merge to the left lanes. However, it turned out they were just painting strips on the road. lol
We had to make several pit stops. Tony was having a bit of a problem. LOL We filled up with gas in Boardman and ate a hamburger. Just before Baker City we started communicating with Deedra. She was on her way back to the Tri Cities from Nampa, and had just left Baker City. We were getting close to it. We kept telling each other which mile marker we were at and low and behold, we passed each other and waved! It was fun!! The sun was shining through.
We got home around 5 and went immediately through the car wash to get all the bugs off that we had accumulated going and coming home again. So, we finally arrived home at 5:30. We quickly unloaded our car, put things away, showered and hit the sack. We were both exhausted. Lona is in town visiting her mom and she wanted to go to the temple with us this morning. She stayed and did an endowment, some Initiatory and some sealings while we worked our shift. Tony and I officiated the 9 o'clock session and the Lowrey's were there with their eldest son and his wife and their son who was taking out his endowment and going on a mission. ( Brother Lowery used to be my dentist) It was so nice to see them. Saw several people from our old stake as well because the Boise temple is closed for cleaning. JoDell and Dave were in town as well and we were going to go to lunch with them when we got done at the Temple, but they decided to leave early to get back to BEAR LAKE. Their granddaughter Paige is reporting on her mission tomorrow.
So, after dropping Lona off at home, we ran in to change clothes and then we went to CHIC FIL A!
( you'd never guess we like the place)
Evidently a lot of people do, as the place was the fullest I've EVER seen it. lol We then went to Winco to get milk and then came home and went to the Jarrett's house. We gave them a big bag of WASABI ALMONDS and a ship in a glass bottle from Astoria. They take good care of our place & pick up our mail when we are gone. Great Neighbors!! We then went over to Aunt Joyce's to see Lona. Lynn and Deb were there too. We visited about an hour and then I said I had to go. I had a bunch of laundry to do. Tony hung around a little longer to schedule our temple day for this coming week and I went home and started my laundry.
I checked the back yard to see what we'll be doing Monday to get ready for Fall/Winter. Our Locust Tree is dropping leaves like crazy!!
They are small so I'll have to blow them out of the rock flower bed to the lawn so I can mow them up. BUT, 1st thing Monday, I have to go to the hospital for labs. Then home to mow and take care of the rest of the garden. It's already turning into a busy week!
My Begonia's are pretty much done blooming. Just a couple of flowers left.
I also got another order from Mary for some religious cards. I made a sample of the scripture she wanted on the card, and asked if everything was OK. I didn't even put it on cardstock yet. I'm learning that she changes her mind frequently so I didn't even glue it together. She said it is OK, but instead of making 12, she wants six of this one.
And six more of this one that I made her last time. I'm so glad that I save the printed verse in my files. SO, this evening I spent a couple of hours cutting out the flowers. I'll put them together possibly tomorrow evening. I probably won't get them all done but I've got a good start on them. Time for bed. Sure hope we both sleep better than we did last night. It's gonna be a busy Sunday.
